The competitive spirit is alive and kicking! The Forerunner Anniversary Sports Fest '26 officially kicked off with an explosive opening ceremony at Brgy. Blue Ridge A, Quezon City!

Led by LTC LESTER T SINLAO PA, the event brought together our fine soldiers to showcase camaraderie, sportsmanship, and peak athletic excellence.

The energy was through the roof as the different companies marched proudly during the Parade of Companies and Muses, each bringing their unique flair and vibrant energy. The venue shook with pride during the roaring chanting of battle cries, proving that our discipline translates perfectly from the field to the court!

The day wrapped up with intense, high-stakes basketball games that set the tone for the rest of the tournament.

This month, we observe the anniversary of the onset of the Marawi Siege. While the nation officially celebrates its full Liberation in October, this month reminds us of the resilience of our communities and the high cost of our peace.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝

The Home of Forerunners honors the ultimate sacrifice of Cpl Reymund A. Paracuelles (CE) PA and the extraordinary heroism of his squad leader, SSg Reggie T. Galao.

Their squad faced a fierce encounter with the Maute terrorist group. Choosing brotherhood over his own safety, SSg Galao stayed under heavy enemy fire to secure Cpl Paracuelles’ body while returning fire.

"Di ko pwedeng iwanan si Parac kasi kung iwanan ko siya don baka mahirapan na kaming marecover siya, dibaleng mahirapan ako sa mga oras na yon." — SSg Reggie T. Galao

Cpl Paracuelles—a Combat Engineer, CSSR instructor, and Rope Master—left behind a loving wife and a young son. His legacy, alongside SSg Galao's valor, embodies the true spirit of our battalion.

Today, the 525th Combat Engineer Battalion continues this legacy by protecting our communities from violent extremism, disinformation, and divisive narratives. We remain proactive through community engagement, counterpropaganda, and real-time monitoring to keep our Area of Responsibility (AOR) safe.

Let us choose unity over division, truth over misinformation, and peace over violence.

Today, we solemnly commemorate the start of the Marawi Siege — a battle that tested the courage, resilience, and unity of the Filipino people.

We pay tribute to the brave soldiers, police, and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defense of our nation and freedom. Their heroism and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten.

Libis, Quezon City — The 𝟱𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 "𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿" 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 welcomed its long-term partner, the 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯, for a courtesy visit and specialized Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) equipment demonstration.

Highlighting their shared commitment to disaster preparedness since 2021, the organization donated six (6) high-quality WASAR Rescue Helmets to augment the personal protective equipment (PPE) of the unit's rescue teams.

The newly donated gear and technical insights will be directly integrated into the battalion's upcoming WASAR Training cycle to sharpen its swift water rescue capabilities.

The 525th Combat Engineer Battalion "Forerunner," alongside the 53rd Engineer Brigade and Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), successfully conducted an Integrated Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Training from April 27 to May 1, 2026, in Cebu City.

The intensive five-day initiative brought together responders from the 53rd Engineer Brigade, BFP Region 7, and the Cebu City DRRMO to master breaching, shoring, lifting, and victim extraction simulations.

We thank our partner agencies and stakeholders for their unwavering commitment to enhancing national disaster resilience. Together, we stand ready to save lives.

The 𝟓𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 proudly welcomed𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐋 𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐏𝐀 (𝐑𝐄𝐒) and 𝐋𝐓𝐉𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐖 𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐀𝐇 𝐏𝐍 (𝐑𝐄𝐒) to the Forerunner Training Area, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

More than a visit, it was a strong display of unity, readiness, and shared commitment to national resilience. Through capability demonstrations and modernization showcases, the battalion highlighted its vital role in combat engineering and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations.

This visit underscores the critical synergy between the regular force and the citizen soldier reserve component. In an era of evolving security challenges and escalating climate realities, seamless collaboration between active-duty personnel and reservists is vital for several key reasons. Reservists act as vital conduits between the Armed Forces and the civilian sector, fostering deeper community trust, mobilizing local resources, and strengthening public support for defense and disaster preparedness initiatives.

By training and operating as a unified front, the regular and reserve forces ensure that the nation possesses a robust, adaptable, and deeply integrated defense structure capable of meeting any crisis.

As the Philippine Army’s premier Disaster Response Unit, the 525CEB continues to stand at the forefront of service and preparedness, “Always Ready, Always Resolved.”
