Tandang Sora National High School Conducts School-Based Orientation on Learning Systems Reform Policies

Tandang Sora National High School successfully conducted its school-based orientation for teachers on the Learning Systems Reform Policies through the live streaming of the Department of Education on May 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The activity aimed to equip teachers with updated knowledge and understanding of the educational reforms in preparation for School Year 2026โ€“2027.

The orientation gathered teachers from different departments who actively participated in the discussions and collaborative lesson planning activities integrated into the program. The initiative strengthened teamwork among educators as they exchanged ideas and aligned instructional practices with the new learning system reforms.

To support the teachers during the whole-day activity, participants received a food allowance amounting to Php 600 and one day service credit. The school administration also ensured that the venue was conducive and comfortable for all attendees.

The successful conduct of the orientation was spearheaded by School Principal Dr. Lorna Mendoza, who served as the Focal Person, together with her designated Assistant Focal Person, Ms. Maricel Carballo, HT VI, MAPEH Department @@@@@@@ the rest of the Department Heads. Their collective efforts guaranteed the smooth flow of the event and the convenience of all participants.

The efforts of the TLE teachers in preparing and setting up the venue with tables and chairs a day before the orientation were also highly appreciated. Their dedication and teamwork contributed greatly to the orderly and comfortable conduct of the activity. The support and leadership of TLE Department Head Maria Teresa Salcedo-Grant were likewise acknowledged during the event.

Adding to the success of the activity was the generosity of Marivic Co-Pilar, who lent an LED Wall Monitor for the event. Together with the Smart TV installed at the venue, the viewing experience became more engaging, accessible, and convenient for the teachers during the live-streamed orientation.

The Schools Division Office also ensured proper monitoring of the activity through Helen Flora, who visited and observed the conduct of the orientation.

The event concluded with the QUAME, leaving teachers better informed, collaborative, and prepared to embrace the upcoming reforms in the educational system. Through activities such as this, Tandang Sora National High School continues to demonstrate its commitment to quality education, professional development, and readiness for transformative change.

In celebration of Womenโ€™s Month, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Tandang Sora launched โ€œMission KITA: Kabataan in Action,โ€ a flower arrangement training session held on March 16, 2026, at the Tandang Sora National High School (TSNHS) library.

The activity centered on economic empowerment, a key theme of Womenโ€™s Month that honors the legacy of Melchora โ€œTandang Soraโ€ Aquino by fostering self-reliance. By providing floral design training, the SK equipped young women and learners with the skills to build their own small businesses, turning a creative craft into a source of financial independence. This initiative transformed the symbolic beauty of flowers into a practical means of livelihood, celebrating the modern womanโ€™s role as both a creator and an entrepreneur. Selected learners from Grade 9 Einstein and Grade 8 Diamond, led by Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) President, Kyle Canceran, participated in the workshop.

The initiative was facilitated by SK Chairperson, Julles Apo, together with SK Kagawads, Sette Laud, Rocky Reyes, Renzo Ramos, Ley Dacara, Jay Torres, Adrian Codog, and Zaira Montecalbo, with Mrs. Jane Cueto as the guest speaker/trainer.

Mrs. Cueto, a floral expert, guided the learners through the technical aspects of the craft. She shared that her main goal was to teach young people. She also emphasized that the program was not only about earning income but also about equipping learners with practical skills to become self-reliant in the future.

The session ended with a photo opportunity, where learners showcased their creations, marking another successful effort by the SK to support the school community during Womenโ€™s Month.
