The Land Management Bureau (LMB) honored the retirement of Assistant Director Engr. Romeo Verzosa during a Salamat, Mabuhay program held on April 8, 2026, recognizing his more than four decades of dedicated service in land administration and public service.

The event gathered officials and employees of the LMB, and featured video messages of close friends from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (GEPI), who paid tribute to Engr. Verzosa’s distinguished career and lasting contributions to the government.

The program also marked the formal turnover of the Assistant Director position to Atty. Marlou Alutaya, symbolizing the transition of leadership within the Bureau. During the event, officials expressed confidence in Atty. Alutaya’s leadership as she assumes the responsibilities of the position and continues the Bureau’s commitment to effective land administration and public service.

𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐙𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — The Land Management Bureau (LMB) conducted a two-day review of its optimization plan as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen its organizational structure and improve operational efficiency. The activity gathered members of the LMB Executive Committee, Section Chiefs, former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) officials and employees, and representatives from the DENR Human Resource Development Service (HRDS), who provided insights and recommendations during the discussions. The workshop was facilitated by consultant Odette Abaya.

The law authorizes the President to optimize the operations of executive branch agencies within five years. The optimization process includes the strengthening, merging, or abolition of functions deemed redundant, while ensuring safeguards for affected employees.

As part of the organizational review, LMB offices assessed their respective mandates, functions, operational challenges, and performance indicators to ensure that these remain specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.

The Land Management Bureau conducted the Government Optimization Plan and Reorganizational Restructuring workshop on May 12–13, 2026, emphasizing the importance of maximizing resources, strengthening coordination, and building a more responsive, efficient, and accountable organization for public service.
