Patuloy na bumaba sa 3.3% ang year-on-year inflation rate noong Marso 2019 mula sa 3.8% noong Pebrero 2019. Ito pa rin ang pinakamababang inflation rate mula pa noong Marso 2018.

Ang mga sumusunod ay ang top 10 contributors sa inflation at kanilang katumbas na percentage points:

2. Catering services (0.3)
3. Elec., gas, fuels (0.3)
4. Fish (0.3)
5. Meat (0.3)
6. Non-alcoholic beverages (0.2)
7. Personal Transport (0.1)
8. Rice (0.1)

Nakatulong sa pagbagal ng inflation ang pagbaba ng presyo ng bigas na siyang staple food ng mga Pilipino. Inaasahan na ang isinusulong na Rice Liberalization Act, na sinimulang isakatuparan noong Marso 5, ay lalong makakatulong sa pagtaas ng spending power ng mga Pilipino upang magkaroon ng mas malawak na access sa iba pang food commodities.

Nakapaloob rin sa Rice Liberalization Act ang Rice Fund, kung saan may nakalaan na P10 billion kada taon para sa ating mga kababayang magsasaka upang matulungan silang maging mas productive at competitive. Ang Rice Fund ay karagdagan pa sa National Rice Program ng Department of Agriculture.
