“Gone from our sights, but never from our hearts — In loving memory of Atty. Edelwina DG. Parungao, CESO V, whose integrity, dedication, and service will forever live in the CES Community.”

The CES Community deeply mourns the passing of Atty. Edelwina DG. Parungao on 14 September 2025.

Atty. Parungao, a Career Executive Service Officer V (CESO V), was conferred the Career Executive Service Eligibility (CESE) on 25 November 1991 and was originally appointed to CESO Rank V by former President Fidel V. Ramos on 16 February 1998.

As a dedicated CESO, she committed herself to advancing the goals of the CES Community. She actively contributed to the CES Eligibility Process in various capacities—as an Assessor, deputized CESB Validator, Panel Interviewer, and Gawad CES Award Validator. Notably, she was among the first who volunteered to serve as Assessor and Panelist in the Blended Assessment Center and virtual/online Panel Interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In recognition of her exemplary service, valuable contributions, remarkable commitment, and active involvement in supporting the CESB’s processes—as a certified CES Assessor, On-the-Job Performance Validation certified CES Validator, and certified CES Panel Interviewer—Atty. Parungao was honored during the CES 50th Anniversary in 2023. Her invaluable contributions truly embodied the noble purpose of the Career Executive Service.

Her passing leaves a great void not only in government service but also in the lives of her family, colleagues, and friends. Yet, she leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, dedication, and service.
Atty. Parungao will always be remembered and cherished in the heart of the CES Community.
