The Patnongon Water District (WD) in Antique continues the improvement and expansion of its water supply system to provide more reliable and accessible water services to previously unserved areas in Barangay La Rioja and Barangay Mabasa.
The project includes the installation of production wells and pumping facilities, approximately 4,400 meters of distribution pipelines, and 200 service connections and water meters to strengthen system capacity, improve water pressure, and expand access to potable water within the service area.
Production wells located in Brgy. La Rioja and Brgy. Mabasa, each with a depth of 12 meters, are equipped with submersible motor pumps and pumping stations designed to enhance water distribution and service reliability.
This project underscores LWUAโs commitment to supporting Water Districts such as Patnongon WD in improving water accessibility and strengthening service reliability for the communities they serve.

The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), through the Corporate Planning Division of the Strategy Management Department (SMD), conducted a three-day strategic planning program in April 2026 aimed at strengthening organizational direction, improving performance, and enhancing service delivery.
The activity included the review of LWUAโs Mission, Vision, and Core Values, assessment of past Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) Performance Scorecards, SWOT Analysis, and the formulation of strategic themes, departmental goals, and objectives. The resource speaker for the three-day program was Mr. Jyro B. Triviรฑo, a management consultant with over ten years of experience.
While LWUAโs performance remains stable and functional, the agency continues to pursue more strategic and transformative approaches in addressing the evolving needs of the water sector.
Moving forward, LWUA will integrate these strategies into its performance management systems and strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to support continuous improvement and responsive public service.

Members of the newly elected officers of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD), composed of General Managers from various Water Districts across the country, paid a courtesy visit to Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Administrator Jose Moises F. Salonga on April 28, 2026.
The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination between LWUA and PAWD, discuss shared priorities, and align plans and initiatives aimed at improving water service delivery, institutional development, and sector-wide collaboration.
LWUA values its continued partnership with PAWD and remains committed to working closely with stakeholders to advance responsive, sustainable, and efficient water services for communities nationwide.

The Santa Ignacia Water District (WD) in Tarlac has successfully completed the construction of their Water Supply System. The project now provides improved water pressure and quality while expanding service coverage to eight barangays, ensuring a more reliable and accessible water supply for residents.
The project involved the development and rehabilitation of deep wells, infrastructure upgrades, pipeline installation, and provision of treatment facilities, service connections, and water meters to ensure safe potable water and expand services to previously unserved areas.
This initiative highlights LWUAโs commitment to supporting WDs like Santa Ignacia WD in delivering sustainable, efficient, and reliable water services, contributing to better public health and local economic growth.

The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), led by LWUA Administrator Atty. Jose Moises F. Salonga, participated in the Asia Water Council (AWC) Technical Session and the 4th Asia International Water Week (AIWW) Kick-Off Meeting held on April 20โ21, 2026 in Quezon City, bringing together regional water leaders and stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions, strengthen cooperation, and address pressing water security challenges.
The meeting served as a platform to exchange best practices on smart water technologies, discuss policy and technical strategies for sustainable water management, and strengthen partnerships among key stakeholders, while also marking the start of preparations for the 4th AIWW, which the Philippines will host in 2027.
LWUA remains committed to actively engaging with regional and international partners in advancing water security, innovation, and sustainable water management, while strengthening efforts to deliver safe, reliable, and resilient water services for Filipino communities.

The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) highlights its courtesy visit with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Atty. Juan Miguel T. Cuna to discuss continuing efforts in the water sector toward providing clean, safe, and sustainable water for communities nationwide, in line with World Earth Day today, April 22, 2026.
The courtesy visit was led by LWUA Administrator Jose Moises F. Salonga, together with Atty. Karl Cornelio A. Cruz, Deputy Administrator for Administrative Services (AS), with assistance from DENRโs Mr. Jayson Abrera.
The meeting reaffirmed LWUAโs commitment to strengthening collaboration with partner government agencies to advance environmental stewardship, water security, and sustainable development through coordinated action and shared responsibility.
In line with Earth Day 2026 and its theme โOur Power, Our Planet,โ LWUA, together with the DENR and other government partners, continues to support initiatives that promote sustainable water management, resource conservation, and environmental protection.

The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), through the Training Division of the Technical Assistance Department (TRD-TAD), successfully conducted the Basic Policy Makers Training on March 17 to 19, 2026 in the City of Manila. The three-day training was attended by 54 Board of Directors (BODs) and General Managers (GMs) representing 25 Water Districts from various regions across the country.
The Basic Policy Makers Training is specifically designed for the BODs of local Water Districts to assist them in meeting the standards and criteria set by LWUA in the formulation of policies and resolutions governing the operation and management of Water Districts.
Most of the participants were newly appointed members of the Board of Directors from different Water Districts nationwide. The training aimed to strengthen their capacities and deepen their understanding of their duties, responsibilities, and vital roles as policy makers in the water sector.
The training featured distinguished resource persons: Engr. Romeo Diaz, who discussed the institutional and technical aspects of Water District governance and operations, and Ms. Dina Cunanan, who covered the financial management component.
The activity was facilitated by Mr. Adolfo A. Nisperos, Jr. and Ms. Nabela Omar of the LWUA TRD-TAD.
Through initiatives such as this, LWUA continues to uphold its commitment to developing competent leadership and promoting effective governance among Water Districts nationwide.
