𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗢𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 🎭

Paul Jake Paule is the co-founder of Artist Playground and currently serves as its Project Director for Theater, overseeing productions, training programs, and creative development. He is also the Artistic Director of the Student Theater Artists Repertory (STAR) at Taguig City University, where he mentors young actors and leads full-scale theatrical productions.

As both an actor and director, Paul Jake has earned recognition from major Philippine theater festivals and award-giving bodies. His acting accolades include Best Actor for 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘥𝘢 at the CineBerde Film Festival (2015), Best Featured Actor for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘮𝘢𝘯 at the Aliw Awards (2016), and Best Featured Actor for 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘳 at the BroadwayWorld Philippines Awards (2017). He has also received several nominations for performances in 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘬 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘶, 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘢𝘴, 𝘔𝘨𝘢 𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘩𝘰, and 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯.

As a director, he won Best Non-Musical Production at the Aliw Awards for 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭 by Rody Vera and later earned recognition for productions such as 𝘍𝘭𝘺 𝘔𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 and 𝘏𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘨 𝘔𝘰 𝘒𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘯. These achievements reflect his continuing impact on contemporary Filipino theater both onstage and behind the scenes.

For Paul Jake, 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗 and 𝗔𝗟.𝗧𝗘𝗥 are not simply two separate plays—they are two directions of the same psychological mirror. The twin bill invites audiences to “double see” reality: once through exposure, and once through distortion.

𝗗𝗢𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 becomes a theatrical experiment on perception—where 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗 exposes the violence of desire, and 𝗔𝗟.𝗧𝗘𝗥 dissolves it into imitation. Together, they ask:

“𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘣𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨?”

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗 🎭

Chase Kyle Loza is a cm laude graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Communication, major in Theater Arts, from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela. His journey as a playwright began during his college years, where he discovered his passion and voice in storytelling through theater.

As a theater artist, Chase has actively participated in various productions both onstage and backstage, experiences that helped shape his creative perspective and approach to writing.

His playwright journey officially began in his third year of college with his debut piece, Minsan sa Kalayaan, under Batch Hiraya. The play was staged at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela, Cavite City during Cavite Day, and later at Areté, Ateneo de Manila University, where an excerpt was performed at the Doreen Black Box as part of its 6th Annual Noel Celebration.

Since then, he has written and directed several works, including Len-Len, while continuously developing Minsan sa Kalayaan into a musical adaptation later reimagined as Minsan sa Samonte Park for Teatro Caviteño’s comeback production.

In 2025, his play Reverse Card premiered at Artist Playground as part of its 10th Anniversary Production—marking a significant milestone in his growing career as a playwright.

Driven by themes of tragedy, love, and self-discovery, Chase’s works aim to shed light on overlooked and unheard stories. Through his distinct narrative style, he challenges audiences to confront uncomfortable truths and deeper realities, believing that art has the power to reveal, transform, and inspire change.
