The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is inviting Personal Information Controllers (PICs), Personal Information Processors (PIPs), and other interested stakeholders to submit comments, suggestions, and other inputs on the draft Guidelines on the Processing of Personal Data for the Availment of Statutory, Government-Mandated, and Other Special Privileges to be adopted by the NPC.
These guidelines seek to streamline the process for availing statutory, government-mandated, and other special privileges, while minimizing unnecessary or excessive processing of personal data in the course of such availment.

βΉοΈ Personal Information - Tumutukoy sa anumang impormasyon na nagpapakita ng pagkakakilanlan ng isang tao, o madaling magagamit upang matukoy ka, gaya ng iyong buog pangalan. Oo, kahit selfie mo, personal information din βyan! πΈ
βΉοΈ Sensitive Personal Information - Ito naman ang mga impormasyong may mas mataas na antas ng proteksyon dahil maaari itong magdulot ng diskriminasyon, identity theft, o fraud kapag na-leak. Kabilang dito ang health records, marital status, educational background, government-issued IDs, financial information, at iba pa. πͺͺ
β οΈTandaan: Ang SPI ay hindi basta-bastang sini-share online. Kapag napunta ito sa maling kamay, maaari itong gamitin sa paggawa ng pekeng accounts, scams, o pagnanakaw ng iyong digital identity.

The National Privacy Commission (NPC), with the support of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), celebrated the National Data Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) with the theme βANAMNESIS: Looking Back and Moving Forwardβ, highlighting a decade of advancing data privacy and protection in the Philippines. The culminating two-day event, the PAW Awards 2026 and the National Data Privacy Conference, was held at Okada, Manila, on 27-28 May 2026. This yearβs celebration also coincided with the NPCβs 10th anniversary, marking ten years since the establishment of the NPC as the countryβs privacy watchdog.
