In 1947, SAN JOSE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL started as an annex of La Loma Elementary School with Prudencio Quilinta as principal. It had only a small administrative building and quonset huts to house its clienteles. As years passed, the enrolment increased which led the elder residents to seek the help of the city government for a bigger school and a permanent school site. The request was granted and on
October 6, 1952 a new Gabaldon building rose on a 24,782.65 sq. meter land acquired by the city government along Tendido and Mauban Streets, the permanent site now of SJES. Years later, quonset huts were replaced by Marcos type buildings and two additional 2-storey buildings on the left and right wings of the site were built. The school population became too big that in 1967, SJES branched out in to Unit I – Main and Unit II. Unit I was headed by Catalina Bartolome in 1959 and Brigida Reyes in 1967, for Unit II- Joaquina Nuñez, Rosalia Guingona and Jose Manongdo. It was in 1968 when Rodriguez Building, a two-storey , eight- room concrete building was built and is now being occupied by the Grade VI pupils. Neighboring schools, both private and public, sprang up and relocation of squatter families residing nearby, posed problems to SJES enrolment. San Jose Unit II was dissolved and San Jose Unit I was left to give its services to the youths of the community. The principal then was Brigida Reyes. Although problem on enrolment sprung up on San Jose, it was granted the Yap-Calalay building and was completed in 1996 with Zenaida San Diego as the principal. Grades IV and II and I occupies the said building. An extension of Calalay Building was granted also. It is a two-floor building with 8 rooms which houses the Grade III. Years later, extension of Gabaldon Building right wing was condemned for it was no longer safe for pupils and teachers to occupy. Demolition of the said building made it possible for San Jose to be granted the three-floor, 12-rooms Mathay Building. It was completed in 1998, it now houses the Grade V pupils, the library, office of the principal, guidance and clinic. At present San Jose Elementary School has 10 buildings. These are the 3-storey, 9 rooms Mathay building; the 3-storey, 9 rooms Calalay building; the 31-year old 2-storey, 8 rooms Rodriguez building; the Prefab, 4 rooms building; the Calalay Extension building; a separate H.E. building for laboratory of the H. classes, a Multi-purpose building, a covered court, a newly renovated stage and a one room building which the GPTCA uses as their office. The school site which was once occupied solely by SJES is now shared with the SAN JOSE HIGH SCHOOL leaving only 13,124 sq. meters of space to the former. The Prefab building needs an escalated ceiling because wind is blocked by the two adjacent 2 and 3-storey buildings. The Rodriguez buildings roofing needs a major rehabilitation so with the comfort rooms. The Multi-purpose building needs to be repaired, too, so it can be used as Faculty room by the teachers and staff. The covered court needs the removal of gutters so that dried leaves and dust will not accumulate. The utility workers find it hard to maintain its cleanliness due to its height. Trees and shrubs line up the school’s premises. A mini vegetable garden and a Science garden serves as the Grade V and VI pupils laboratory for agriculture education. Malunggay is abundant in our school so with other leafy and fruit bearing vegetables like upo, patola, eggplant, okra and sigarillas which are all planted in season.

Ang pagtaas ng temperatura ay nagdudulot ng mas mataas na panganib ng heat exhaustion, dehydration, at mga sakit na dala ng insekto. Ang pag-inom ng sapat na tubig, pagsusuot ng preskong damit, at pagkain ng prutas at gulay ay makatutulong upang mapanatili ang mabuting kalusugan.
Makakatulong din ang paggamit ng payong, pagsusuot ng sumbrero, at paglalagay ng sunscreen upang maprotektahan ang sarili laban sa mapaminsalang sikat ng araw. Mahalaga rin ang pagkilala sa mga sintomas ng heat exhaustion at ang pagsasagawa ng tamang pag-iingat upang maiwasan ang mga sakit na dulot ng init.

KALIDAD NG HANGIN SA QUEZON CITY
Nais ipabatid ng QCDRRMO ang kasalukuyang lagay ng ating hangin. Bagaman maayos o "Good" ang air quality sa malaking bahagi ng lungsod, may ilang mga lugar na naitalang "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups."
Dahil dito, mahigpit naming itinatagubilin ang mga sumusunod:
- Magsuot ng proteksyon o face mask kung kinakailangang lumabas.
- Limitahan ang pag-stay sa labas, partikular na ang mga may hika, allergy, o sakit sa puso at baga.
- Uminom ng maraming tubig at laging kumustahin ang lagay ng mga bata at lolo't lola.
Prayoridad namin ang inyong kalusugan. Laging mag-iingat!

The Office of Civil Defense – National Capital Region (OCD-NCR) advises all residents in Metro Manila to wear face masks when going outdoors due to deteriorating air quality in several areas, with levels reaching “unhealthy” to “very unhealthy.”
Vulnerable groups, including individuals with respiratory conditions, children, the elderly, and pregnant women, are strongly encouraged to remain indoors as much as possible. Those who need to go outside are advised to wear face masks and limit prolonged exposure to polluted air.
Residents are also encouraged to keep windows closed when air quality is poor, stay hydrated, and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, or throat irritation.
