This International Museum Day, THE HOUSE Legislative Museum joins museums around the world in celebrating the power of museums as spaces of learning, reflection, culture, and public service.

More than preserving artifacts and records, museums safeguard the stories that shape nations and connect generations. At THE HOUSE Legislative Museum, every gallery and collection reflects the journey of Philippine democracy, the evolution of legislation, and the enduring voice of the Filipino people.

As we celebrate International Museum Day, we reaffirm our commitment to preserving legislative heritage, promoting civic education, and bringing the history of Congress closer to every Filipino.

Museums do not simply preserve the past. They help society understand the present and inspire the future.

The chest that protected the 1935 Constitution holds more than a document. It holds a turning point in our history.

Crafted in fine steel with gold details and designed by Manuel Beristain y Bengoechea, this piece marked the inauguration of the Philippine Commonwealth in 1935. Its design reflects Renaissance craftsmanship. Its meaning reflects a nation finding its voice.

Inside it was a Constitution written by Filipinos, for Filipinos. A clear step toward self-governance after decades of struggle since 1898.

At THE HOUSE Legislative Museum, this artifact shows how law, identity, and independence connect. It reminds you that every law begins with a vision, and every vision shapes the nation.
