Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City - The National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), AFP under the leadership of Major General Gregorio B Hernandez Jr. PN(M) conducted its Monday Flag-Raising on 01 June 2026. The ceremony was attended by NCRCOM officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource, serving as a venue to reinforce unity, discipline, and commitment to the Command's mission of ensuring peace, security, and development in the National Capital Region.
During the ceremony, NCRCOM formally welcomed its newly assigned officers through the ceremonial pinning of the NCRCOM unit patch, symbolizing their official integration into the Command and dedication to its mandate. The activity also featured the presentation of awards and recognition to deserving personnel and units whose exemplary service and outstanding accomplishments significantly contributed to the attainment of NCRCOM's operational objectives.
A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of the Gawad sa Kaunlaran to the 11th and 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalions (CMO Bn) in recognition of their successful conduct of the Community Support Program β White Area Operations (CSP-WAO) across the National Capital Region. Through effective stakeholder engagement, community empowerment initiatives, information support operations, and close coordination with local government units and partner agencies, the battalions significantly enhanced public awareness and strengthened community participation in government peace and development programs, contributing to the overall success of NCRCOM's civil-military operations efforts.

From May 28 to June 12, we proudly observe National Flag Days β a 16-day commemoration that began with the first unfurling of the Philippine Flag after the Battle of Alapan in 1898 and culminates on Independence Day. π΅π
More than a symbol, our National Flag represents the courage, freedom, unity, and sacrifices of generations of Filipinos who fought for our sovereignty.
As defenders of the Filipino people and the State, the Armed Forces of the Philippines stands with every Filipino in giving due honor and respect to our flag by proudly displaying it in our homes, offices, schools, and communities.

During the discussion, the Commander presented the ongoing implementation of the Community Support Program β White Area Operations (CSP-WAO) of NCRCOM, which aims to strengthen government presence and community participation through peace and development engagements in various communities. The program focuses on information awareness, stakeholder collaboration, and support to local government initiatives to address issues affecting peace and order.
Present during the activity were members of the NCRCOM Staff, the Commanding Officer of the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, and the Directoral Staff of the National Capital Region Police Office. The courtesy call served as an avenue to further enhance cooperation and coordination among participating agencies in support of CSP-White Area Operations and other community-based initiatives, reaffirming their shared commitment toward lasting peace, security, and public welfare.

AFP Welcomes Strong Public Support for National Defense Efforts
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed the results of the latest Tugon ng Masa (TNM) nationwide survey conducted by OCTA Research from March 19 to 25, 2026, which showed that 76 percent of adult Filipinos support the governmentβs efforts to defend the countryβs territory and sovereign rights, including the West Philippine Sea.
Conducted nationwide, the survey showed the strongest support in National Capital Region at 83 percent, followed by Luzon at 77 percent, underscoring the strong public backing for the protection of the countryβs sovereignty and national interests.
The AFP remains committed to performing its mandate with professionalism, operational readiness, and adherence to international law in order to safeguard the nationβs territorial integrity and support a peaceful and rules-based regional order.
