TINGNAN: Nagsagawa ang PFDA - Gender and Development Focal Point System (PFDA-GFPS) ng Word of GAD Lecture patungkol sa GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) noong Setyempre 21, 2026 sa PFDA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

Ang GAD Plan and Budget o GPB ay isang sistema na nakakatulong na i-address ang gender issues sa pamamagitan ng planned programs, projects, activities at kaukulang resources nito.

Ang GPB ay unang ipinakilala sa General Appropriations Act of 1995 o “The Women’s Budget” kung saan inaatasan ng ang lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno na maglaan ng minimum na 5% na kanilang kabuuang taunang bugdet para sa gender programs, projects, at activities.

Tampok din sa maikling lecture ang kaakibat na GAD Annual Report ng GPB kung saan tinalakay ang mga ginawa ng ahensya para isulong ang gender equality at woman empowerment noong 2025, tulad ng pagpapatibay ang integration ng GAD sa polisiya at operasyon ng ahensya katulad ng pagsama ng Gender Sensitivity Orientation (GSO) sa onboading ng bagong kawani ng ahensya.

Bukod dito, lalong pinalakas din ang kaalaman at kamalayan ng mga kawani at stakeholders ng PFDA sa GAD sa pamamagitan ng information materials, activities, pati na rin ng gender-sensitive film presentations.

Isang tagumpay din sa mga kababaihan ang pag-improve ng ahensya sa mga pasilidad na tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng kababaihan katulad ng pagkakaroon ng lactation station sa Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC).

Sa bandang dulo, binigyang diin na ang GAD Plan and Budget ay hindi lamang paghahanap ng mga aktibidad na ilalagay sa GAD budget kundi ang pag-unawa at pagkilala sa mga gender issues na kayang tugunan ng ahensya.

| GAD Plan and Budget: GAD to make it count!

The GAD Plan and Budget is a systematic tool that helps address gender issues through planned programs, projects, activities, and its corresponding resources.

Under the Magna Carta of Women and the GAA, government agencies are directed to prepare an annual GAD Plan and Budget and allocate at least 5% of their total budget for GAD-related programs and activities.

The GPB helps ensure that gender equality and gender-responsive actions are incorporated into an agency's regular planning and budgeting, rather than treated as separate or purely additional activities.

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. It is a month-long campaign that promotes and supports breastfeeding, particularly its importance to the health and well-being of mothers and children.

Anchored on the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, which strengthens the promotion of breastfeeding and requires support for breastfeeding in various settings, including workplaces.

Did you know? PFDA - Lucena Fish Port Complex was awarded the Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace Certifications in recognition of the fish port's effort in providing a dedicated and supportive space for breastfeeding mothers by opening a lactation room.

TINGNAN: Bilang pakikiisa sa Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month, nagsagawa ang PFDA - Gender and Development Focal Point System (PFDA-GFPS) ng maikling Word of GAD Lecture noong Hulyo 27, 2026 sa PFDA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

Layunin ng maikling lecture na palawakin ang kaalaman ng mga kawani tungkol sa human trafficking at ang mahalagang papel ng bawat isa sa pagpigil nito.

Tinalakay sa lecture na ang human trafficking ay hindi lamang tungkol sa kidnapping o illegal recruitment, kundi maaari ring magsimula sa mapanlinlang na alok sa trabaho na nauuwi sa labor exploitation at iba pang uri ng pang-aabuso. Binigyang-diin din na bilang mga tagapamahala ng mga fish port na dinadaluyan ng libu-libong mangingisda, fish worker, trader, vendor, at iba pang stakeholder, may mahalagang tungkulin ang mga kawani ng PFDA na maging mapagmatyag, magsumbong ng mga kahina-hinalang sitwasyon sa tamang awtoridad, at isulong ang ligtas at makataong kapaligiran para sa lahat.

Sa pagtatapos ng aktibidad, hinikayat ang lahat ng kawani na patuloy na suportahan ang mga adbokasiya ng Gender and Development (GAD) sa pamamagitan ng pagiging mulat, mapanuri, at aktibong katuwang sa pagprotekta sa karapatan at kapakanan ng bawat indibidwal sa loob at labas ng mga fish port.

TINGNAN: Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Pride Month ngayong Hunyo, nagsagawa ang PFDA - Gender and Development Focal Point System (PFDA-GFPS) ng Word of GAD Lecture noong Hunyo 1, 2026 sa PFDA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

Sa pamamagitan ng isang true-or-false na palarong pinamagatang “Pakak! o Wititit!”, layunin ng aktibidad na imulat ang mga kawani ng PFDA sa kasaysayan ng Pride Month at kasalukuyang lagay ng SOGIE sa ating lipunan.

Kabilang sa mga paksang tinalakay ang kauna-unahang Pride March sa Asya na ginanap sa Pilipinas noong Hunyo 26, 1994, na kilala bilang “Stonewall Manila,” gayundin ang patuloy na pagsusulong ng mga panukalang batas laban sa diskriminasyon batay sa SOGIE. Ipinaliwanag din ang kahulugan ng mga kulay sa Pride Flag bilang simbolo ng buhay, paggaling, sikat ng araw, kalikasan, kapanatagan, at espiritu.

Tampok din sa lecture ang Right to Care Card ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Quezon, isang programa na nagbibigay sa LGBTQIA+ couples ng karapatang gumawa ng mahahalagang desisyong medikal para sa kanilang kapareha sa mga sitwasyong nangangailangan nito.

TINGNAN: Nagsagawa ang PFDA - Gender and Development Focal Point System (PFDA-GFPS) ng Word of GAD Lecture patungkol sa ‘International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)’ ngayong Mayo 18, 2026 sa PFDA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

Ang IDAHOBIT ay isang pandaigdigang paggunita tuwing Mayo 17 na nagsusulong ng kamalayan, pagkakapantay-pantay, at respeto sa mga Le***an, Gay, Bis*xual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Inters*x, and As*xual identities (LGBTQIA+) na indibidwal. Pinapaalala rin nito na ang bawat isa ay may karapatang mabuhay sa isang ligtas at inklusibong komunidad anuman ang kanilang S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and S*x Characteristics o SOGIESC.

Tinalakay sa lecture na ayon sa isang pag-aaral galing sa University of the Philippines, ang mga Pilipinong LGBTQIA+ ay mayroong mas mataas na posibilidad na makaranas ng diskriminasyon o karahasan sa workplace.

Sa pamamagitan ng PFDA-GFPS, patuloy na pinagpapatibay ng ahensya ang pagkakaroon ng isang inklusibong workplace kung saan ang bawat isa, anuman ang gender identity at s*xual orientation, ay nakakaramdam ng kaligtasan at respeto, at higit sa lahat, may pantay na oportunidad.

TINGNAN: Nagsagawa ng Word of GAD Lecture patungkol sa ‘Reproductive Health in the Philippines’ ang PFDA - Gender and Development Focal Point System (PFDA-GFPS) noong Abril 20, 2026 sa PFDA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

Tinalakay sa lecture ang Republic Act (R.A.) 10354 o ang Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 o mas kilala bilang Reproductive Health Law na nagsasabi na ang lahat ng Pilipino ay may access sa family planning, healthcare, at impormasyon. Sinabi din na ang reproductive health ay hindi responsibilidad ng babae, kundi shared regardless of s*x and gender.

Isa din sa mga tinalakay ang mga suliranin na kinakaharap ng mga kababaihan sa usaping reproductive health kasabay ng mga datos katulad ng: 84 na nanay na namamatay kada 100,000 live births (ayon sa UNICEF, World Bank); 32 sa 1,000 dalagitang nasa edad 15-19 na nagiging ina (ayon sa World Bank); at mahigit isang milyong unsafe abortions na nangyayari taun-taon (ayon sa Guttmacher Institute).

Kasabay na rin ang mga economic effects sa kababaihan kapag nabubuntis katulad ng sapilitang paghinto sa pag-aaral at kahirapan sa paghahanap ng trabaho pati na rin ang stigma o judgment na kinakaharap ng mga kababaihang dumadaan sa ganito.

Sa kabila nito, tinalakay naman ang mga pwedeng gawin upang makatulong sa usaping reproductive health katulad ng pagiging open sa ganitong mga topic, pag-share ng tamang impormasyon, at pagtanggal ng stigma.

Ang lecture na ito ay pakikiisa ng PFDA-GFPS sa World Health Day noong Abril 7, 2026.
