FOLLOW-THROUGH POLICE WORK YIELDS ARREST IN CHEF’S RESIDENCE ROBBERY
Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police in Rizal have arrested a suspect in connection with the reported robbery at the residence of a chef and online content creator in Antipolo City, following sustained police follow-up after the incident gained public attention.
The development came on October 18, when police investigators and personnel from Antipolo City and Baras conducted a follow-up operation based on information developed during the investigation. The suspect was intercepted while carrying a travel bag containing assorted kitchen appliances and household items believed to have been taken from the residence. The recovered items are still being inventoried, with their total value yet to be determined.
The case stemmed from a reported break-in at the residence on September 28. After information about the incident surfaced online, police personnel conducted initial inquiries and coordinated with barangay officials and individuals who could provide information relevant to the case. Authorities also verified the exact location and territorial jurisdiction of the property as part of the investigation.
Follow-up investigators later developed information that led to the October 18 operation, where the suspect was intercepted carrying the bag containing the recovered items. He was arrested, informed of his constitutional rights, and remains in police custody as the necessary documents are being prepared for the filing of the appropriate case before the prosecutor’s office.
Chief PNP PGen Nartatez said the case underscores the importance of continuing police work after the initial response.
“Kapag may ganitong insidente, trabaho nating umaksyon at alamin ang buong pangyayari. Tinitingnan natin ang facts, sinusundan ang leads, at kung may dapat aksyunan, ginagawa natin. Hindi naman natatapos sa unang report ang trabaho ng pulis. Tinututukan natin ang kaso hanggang malinaw kung ano talaga ang nangyari,” PGen Nartatez said.
The operation reflects the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through sustained investigation, coordination, and timely police action. It also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for responsive public service and stronger community confidence in law enforcement.
The PNP encourages the public to report incidents through proper channels and provide information that may assist investigators in establishing the facts. Through sustained, lawful, and responsive police service, the PNP continues to advance its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

SAFER CITIES DRIVE PUTS 9.2 MILLION LOCAL ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS ON POLICE RADAR
Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units nationwide recorded 9.2 million violations of local ordinances from January 1 to September 30, 2026, as the PNP strengthened community-level enforcement through its Safer Cities Initiative.
The figure represents a 57.2-percent increase from the previous period. Of the recorded violations, 4.1 million resulted in fines, while 5 million individuals were warned or released. Police also recorded 34,198 charged cases, with 49,449 placed under other dispositions.
The initiative covers everyday concerns that directly affect public safety and order. Traffic Code violations accounted for the largest share at 3.84 million, followed by curfew violations at 1.02 million and smoking-ban violations at 1.02 million. Other violations included drinking in public, road obstruction, sanitation and anti-littering concerns, karaoke violations, and vandalism.
Among the top-performing police regions, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recorded about 2.4 million violators arrested or apprehended, followed by PRO 3 with 1.8 million and PRO 4A with 932,000.
Chief PNP Nartatez said the sustained enforcement of local ordinances is an important part of making police service felt in the daily lives of communities, particularly in places where public-order concerns are most visible.
“Ang safety hindi lang naman tungkol sa malalaking police operations. Minsan, nagsisimula ito sa mga simpleng bagay—maayos na kalsada, disiplinadong public spaces, at mga ordinansang sinusunod. We want our people to see that the police are present, responsive, and ready to act when needed. Basta tama ang proseso at patas ang pagpapatupad, we can make our communities safer one area at a time,” PGen Nartatez said.
He emphasized that enforcement must remain lawful, fair, and respectful of individual rights, while police units continue working with local government units to ensure proper implementation of local regulations.
The Safer Cities Initiative is being pursued in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under the leadership of Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla and local government units, complementing the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening peace and order and promoting safer communities.
The initiative also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), by enabling police units to respond to actual community concerns through coordinated and sustained local enforcement.
Through this continuing effort, the PNP seeks to make public spaces more orderly and police service more responsive to the everyday needs of communities, consistent with the vision of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

MURDER SUSPECT ON TWO MOST-WANTED LISTS FALLS IN LAS PIÑAS

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., dealt a major blow against fugitives evading justice with the arrest of a murder suspect wanted at both the city and regional levels in Las Piñas City on October 16, 2026.

The 44-year-old male suspect, a resident of Calamba City, Laguna, was apprehended near a convenience store in Barangay Pamplona Tres by operatives of the Las Piñas City Police Station and the Bay Municipal Police Station of the Laguna Police Provincial Office. He was the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Las Piñas City and a Regional Level Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon).

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued on September 21, 2026, by Branch 153 of the Regional Trial Court in Biñan City, Laguna, for murder, a non-bailable offense. The suspect is currently detained at the Las Piñas City Police Station custodial facility pending the issuance of a Commitment Order by the issuing court.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized that the PNP remains resolute in pursuing individuals wanted for serious crimes and ensuring that warrants of arrest are enforced. “No one should mistake crossing regional boundaries for an escape from accountability. We will pursue wanted individuals until they are brought before the courts,” he said.

He likewise stressed the importance of bringing fugitives to justice. “Hindi natin papayagang makatakas sa pananagutan ang sinumang may kinakaharap na kasong kriminal. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang paghahanap sa mga wanted upang tiyaking mangingibabaw ang batas,” PGEN Nartatez added.

The accomplishment supports the PNP Focused Agenda, a framework for police transformation that strengthens law enforcement and accountability. It reflects the key priority of Enhanced Managing Police Operations through effective efforts to locate and apprehend wanted individuals.

As the PNP intensifies its efforts to track down fugitives and enforce the law under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
