READ PRESS RELEASE | NAPOLCOM Welcomes Appointment of Police General Nartatez as 32nd PNP Chief

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) commended the official appointment of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. as the 32nd Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), marking his assumption as a full-fledged PNP Chief following the donning of his four-star rank in a ceremony held at the Malacañang Palace this morning.

NAPOLCOM Chief, Commissioner Ralph Calinisan, said that PGEN Nartatez formally assumes full command and authority over the PNP at a critical time, as the organization continues to advance reforms aimed at strengthening discipline, professionalism, and public trust. He emphasized that sustained progress requires close and consistent cooperation between NAPOLCOM and the PNP leadership.

“We welcome Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. as the 32nd Chief of the Philippine National Police.

The NAPOLCOM Chief underscored that the Commission will continue to work hand in hand with the PNP leadership to ensure that police authority is exercised with integrity, discipline, and respect for the rule of law.

NAPOLCOM expressed confidence that under General Nartatez’s leadership, the PNP will continue moving toward “isang pulisya na matatag sa prinsipyo, mahusay sa serbisyo, at makatao sa tungkulin.”
