Last October 14, 2025, during our Departmental Conference, the Medical Social Service Department continues to learn and grow together. In the case presentation led by Ms. Golda Mae Valientes, and joined by all the medical social workers of NCH, she tackled one of her managed cases. Using the Child and Adolescent Assessment Tool with a Social Care Plan, the discussion highlighted a comprehensive approach to understanding the client’s psychosocial needs, identifying risk and protective factors, and formulating appropriate interventions to ensure holistic care.

Yesterday, October 16, 2025, the National Children’s Hospital -Medical Social Work Department successfully held the Basic Child Life Training Program in partnership with Kythe Foundation

With inspiring insights from our speakers, Evelyn Muñiz,RSW,MMPA, Charm Mercado, Fatima Lorenzo, RPsy, CCLS, Nina Nerissa Sumpaico Jose, MA, CCLS, and Marie Antonette Dy. The training deepened our understanding of child life services and their vital role in enhancing hospital-based psychosocial care.

Special thanks to Delies Alejo, Maryan Sanchez, Rosemarie J. Catap and most especially with the Medical Social Work Department team for leading and organizing this meaningful event.
