“Hindi krimen ang magligtas ng bata. Hindi krimen ang magturo.”
SANDIWA stands with Save Our Schools Mindanao and the Lumad people in demanding justice for the Talaingod 13. The truth is clear: they did not harm Lumad children—they helped save them. Yet those who protected children and defended their right to education are the ones being punished, while those behind threats, displacement, and violence remain unaccountable.
This unjust conviction is an attack on Lumad schools, Indigenous education, and the right of Indigenous Peoples to land, dignity, and self-determination. We reiterate: Saving Lumad children is not a crime. Teaching is not a crime. Defending Indigenous communities is not a crime.
Reverse the unjust conviction of the Talaingod 13. Reopen Lumad schools. Stand with Lumad communities. Fight for justice.
Message SANDIWA on Facebook to coordinate support, solidarity actions, and advocacy for justice for the Talaingod 13 and Lumad communities.

SANDIWA stands with the transport strike and the people’s resistance against the worsening fuel and energy crisis. Imperialist war, oil cartel profiteering, and anti-people policies continue to drive prices up, while drivers, commuters, workers, peasants, fisherfolk, Indigenous Peoples, Moro communities, and the urban poor bear the heaviest burden.
We demand: Junk the Oil Deregulation Law. Remove VAT and excise tax on fuel and basic goods. Provide immediate, meaningful relief and subsidies for transport workers and poor communities. For Indigenous Peoples and Moro communities already facing dispossession, militarization, and deep economic marginalization, every oil price hike is another assault on livelihood, mobility, and survival.
The transport strike is a clear expression of public anger and must be met with stronger collective action and wider solidarity in the days ahead. We support efforts to expand protest actions, strengthen mutual aid, and hold the Marcos Jr. regime accountable for policies that favor foreign interests and big business over the people.
Support the transport strike and community pantry efforts. Donations in cash or kind are welcome. Message SANDIWA on Facebook for coordination.
People over profit. Oppose imperialist aggression. Advance the people’s struggle.

On the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power uprising, the Sandiwa Network of Advocates for Indigenous Peoples Rights underscores that the events of February 1986 were a direct rejection of tyranny, plunder, and systemic abuse of power. For Indigenous Peoples (IPs), corruption and state violence are not episodes in history—they are continuing conditions. From colonial land dispossession to the Marcos Sr. dictatorship’s projects such as the Chico Dam and the forced displacement of Aeta, Lumad, and Moro communities, governance has repeatedly enabled the extraction of resources from ancestral domains while silencing Indigenous resistance.
Today, patterns of impunity, militarization, red-tagging, and manipulated “consultations” persist in Indigenous and Bangsamoro territories. Corrupt practices fast-track destructive projects while accountability mechanisms weaken or stall. Public office continues to be used to shield powerful interests rather than protect marginalized communities. Marking EDSA at 40 demands confronting these systemic failures head-on. The call remains clear: end corruption that thrives on Indigenous land and labor, ensure genuine free, prior, and informed consent, and uphold the rights of communities who continue to defend their territories. Tuloy ang laban para sa lupa, karapatan, at katarungan.

This 4 December 2025, join us for the Katungod: 4th Annual Forum on International Human Rights - “Advancing Community-Led Actions in the Face of Systemic Corruption, Climate Crisis, and Human Rights Violations in the Philippines.”
From the July habagat floods to Super Typhoon Uwan, 2025 exposed how corruption and negligence continue to turn hazards into humanitarian crises. As we commemorate 12 years since Yolanda and approach International Human Rights Day, we gather to defend our rights, demand accountability, and strengthen community-led climate justice.
