Planting today for a greener tomorrow! 🌱

Happy Arbor Day from the Parks Development and Administration Department! 🌳

Bilang bahagi ng taunang pagdiriwang ng Philippine Arbor Day tuwing ika-25 ng Hunyo, nagsagawa ng isang tree-planting and clean-up activity sa Batasan Riverview Linear Park ngayong Hunyo 21, 2026.

Ang aktibidad ay isinagawa ng Quezon City LGU sa pakikipagtulungan sa Brgy. Batasan Hills at mga kinatawan mula sa iba't ibang sektor ng kanilang komunidad.

Dumalo sa programa ang mga kinatawan mula sa PDAD, CCESD, DSQC, QCTD, DRRMO, TTMD, QCDE, QC KABAHAGI at District 2 Action Office.

Bilang bahagi ng 1 Million Trees Program ng lungsod, may kabuuang 200 seedlings ng Narra, Bitaog, Banaba at Bani ang itinanim sa Batasan Riverview Linear Park upang magdilbing silong at protection sa parke sa mga susunod na taon. 🌱

| May 04 - May 31 ✨🌿

Thank you to over 28,000 park visitors for making memories in this May. It was a month blessed with warm sunshine, growth, and celebrations as various Philippine Native Flora bloomed throughout the park. 🌱💚

Some of the Highlights of the Month include:
🌱The AFoCO Monitoring Visit on May 11, wherein representatives from the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) visited NAPWC to conduct a monitoring visit and meeting for the AFoCO-DENR FRESH Project.
🏛️ A productive PAMB Meeting conducted on May 18 wherein the Protected Area Management Board were presented with guidelines and updates within the park.
🎤 A Training workshop "Kaizen Session on Tour Guiding and Spiel Development" on May 25 with the Department of Tourism - NCR, introduced NAPWC staff to the basic concepts and rules of tour guiding. An even more comprehensive workshop is set to be conducted later on.

Aside from our regular park maintenance and watering activities, NAPWC partnered with the Quezon City Parks Development and Administration Department () and the Metro Parkway Clearing Group (MPGC) under MMDA () for Preventative Tree Maintenance activities. Their expertise and equipment allowed us to safely trim branches of trees within the park and parking lot area and along the North Avenue Perimeter respectively. Staff also teamed up with members of the Department of Sanitation and Cleanup Works of Quezon City (DSQC) under the Quezon City Department of Engineering for the solid waste management activity organizing the park. 🌳♻️

NAPWC also participated in the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDBD 2026) celebrations as seen in DENR Biodiversity Management Bureau (.biodiversity)

💚🌿 With these activities, NAPWC continues to thrive as the Protected Area within the Heart of the City.

Ipinagdiriwang natin tuwing June 5 ang World Environment Day, sa bisa ng resolusyong pinagtibay ng United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) noong 1972.

Sa temang "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For our Future." ngayong taon, hinihikayat ang pandaigdigang komunidad na patatagin ang kooperasyon, magbahagi ng mga solusyon, at palakasin ang mga hakbang tungo sa isang climate-resilient na kinabukasan.

Kailangan nating lahat na tiyaking napapangalagaan at sustainable ang paggamit ng kalikasan.

Sa Quezon City, patuloy nating itinataguyod ang iba-ibang sustainable at environment-friendly programs—mula sa circular economy, urban farming, at biodiversity restoration, hanggang sa green transport at renewable energy transition.

Sama-sama nating pangalagaan ang kapaligiran at maging bahagi ng pagbuo ng mas para sa susunod na henerasyon. ♻️🪴💚
