The Educational Administration (EDAD) Area of the College of Education at UP Diliman is the pioneering and premier institution for instruction, research, and extension services in educational leadership and policy studies in the Philippines. The EDAD Area traces its roots to the graduate courses on educational administration first offered in the Philippines in 1950, and was followed by the UP-Stanford Cooperative Leadership Educational Programs of 1956, a joint endeavor by the UP Graduate College of Education and the Bureau of Public Schools. In 1968, the EDAD Area evolved into a regular graduate program. As a torchbearer and trailblazer, the EDAD Area has been at the forefront of shaping education thought leaders and practitioners in the Philippines. PROGRAM OFFERINGS:

The Day 2 Workshop for Teachers of GuMaBay 2026 concluded with the session entitled “Gabay-Guro: LAC Session sa Mentoring, Coaching at Pagpapaunlad ng Kakayahan,” facilitated by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴.

The session emphasized the value of mentoring, coaching, collaboration, and continuous professional learning in strengthening teaching practices and supporting the holistic development of young learners. Through reflective activities, meaningful discussions, and collaborative sharing, teachers were encouraged to build supportive learning communities and continue growing together as educators.

As GuMaBay 2026 officially comes to a close, the EDAD 341 class under Dr. Marian Christine Patriarca extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who became part of this meaningful community extension project.

Teachers from the Mandaluyong Day Care Centers actively participated in the workshop activity, “Sorting Developmental Milestones,” as part of the session “Laro at Turo: Designing Play-Based Learning Experiences” facilitated by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗼.

Through this hands-on activity, participants explored developmental milestones, classroom observation, and play-based strategies that can help create more meaningful and engaging learning experiences for young children.

Indeed, learning becomes more effective when teachers learn together, share experiences, and connect theory with practice. 💚❤️💙

Day 2 of GuMaBay 2026 officially began with warm welcome remarks from 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗜𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴, Head of the Mandaluyong City Day Care Center ECCD Program, followed by the opening remarks of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮, course instructor of EDAD 341.

Now in full swing is the morning session for teachers entitled “Laro at Turo: Designing Play-Based Learning Experiences,” facilitated by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗼, Lecturer from the UP College of Home Economics – Department of Family Life and Child Development (FLCD).

The session engages teachers in meaningful discussions and interactive activities focused on play-based learning, developmental milestones, classroom observation, and designing engaging learning experiences for young children.

Teachers from the Mandaluyong Day Care Centers are actively participating and sharing insights as they explore practical and child-centered teaching strategies for early childhood education.

GuMaBay 2026 is a Community Extension Project of the EDAD 341 students.

Day 1 of GuMaBay 2026 concluded with the afternoon session, “Gabay at Pag-unawa: Guiding Children Through Positive Discipline,” led by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗢𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲.

The session brought together parents from the Mandaluyong Day Care Centers in meaningful discussions and workshop activities about understanding children’s behavior, practicing positive discipline, and building stronger parent-child relationships at home.

Participants actively shared experiences, insights, and practical ways of guiding children with patience, empathy, and consistency — making the session both engaging and relatable for everyone.

Parents from Mandaluyong Day Care Centers are actively participating in the morning session, “Gabay at Katuwang sa Pagkatuto: Strengthening Parent-School Partnerships.”

Following the pedagogical discussion session facilitated by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮, participants engaged in an interactive role-playing and collaborative workshop activity designed to apply practical strategies in supporting children’s learning and development.

The session highlights the importance of strong parent-school partnerships, reflective communication, and community involvement in creating nurturing and supportive learning environments for children.
