We have a shared goal to keep learning, growing, and improving so we can give our best to our veterans and their families.
Every day, we learn something new from the people we serve, from our experiences, and from each other. These lessons help us become better listeners, stronger advocates, and more effective care providers.
Moving forward, we are not just doing more, we are doing better. And with every step, we remain grounded in our mission that is to serve those who have served us, with respect, compassion, and dedication. ππβ₯οΈ

The Medical Social Work Dept. reached out to Batangas. July 19, 2025
In a truly heartwarming display of dedication and proactive care, the Medical Social Work Department of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) recently embarked on a crucial mission to Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. This wasn't just a routine visit; it was a lifeline extended, a bridge built between vital healthcare services and the very individuals who deserve them most: our veterans and their devoted dependents.
Imagine the scene: not a drab office, but a vibrant, bustling hub where VMMC's compassionate medical social workers, with their friendly smiles and expert guidance, connected directly with the community. Their purpose? To ensure that every eligible veteran and their dependent could readily avail themselves of the invaluable VMMC Medical Card β their golden ticket to a lifetime of comprehensive medical services.
This card isn't just a piece of plastic; it's a symbol of lifelong commitment and gratitude. It signifies that those who bravely served our nation, and the families who supported them through it all, will have access to top-tier medical care at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center. This means free consultations, treatments, medicines, laboratory and diagnostic tests, and even free hospitalization β a truly invaluable benefit in an era where healthcare costs can be a heavy burden.
The Medical Social Work Department understood that for many veterans, especially those in more rural areas like Mataas na Kahoy, traveling to Quezon City for registration can be a significant challenge. This outreach initiative was designed to eliminate those barriers, bringing the application process directly to their community. Picture the relief on the faces of veterans and their dependents as they completed the necessary steps with ease, guided by patient and understanding medical social workers.
This mission goes beyond mere administrative tasks. It's a powerful affirmation that their sacrifices have not been forgotten. It's about accessibility, and a tangible assurance of support for their health and well-being, now and for the rest of their lives. For the Medical Social Work Department, it's about extending genuine human connection, understanding their needs, and ensuring they feel truly cared for.
This visit to Mataas na Kahoy is about reaffirming a promise. It was a testament to the VMMC's commitment to reaching out, ensuring that no veteran or their dependent is left behind when it comes to vital healthcare. It's a reminder that their service is forever etched in the nation's memory, and their well-being remains a paramount concern.
