𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙋𝙎𝙊𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝? 🤔 The Department of Education (DepEd) categorizes schools that deliver the Philippine curriculum abroad as Philippine Schools Overseas, or PSOs. As of 2026, there are over 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆-𝘀𝗶𝘅 (𝟯𝟲) 𝗣𝗦𝗢𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗲 🌍 that have produced thousands of alumni through the years, with the majority returning to the Philippines for senior high school or college. 🏫

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is inviting overseas Filipino community leaders to register for the Filipino Diaspora Summit to be held in Manila on June 16, 2026.

The summit, themed “Transformation through Diaspora Engagement: Harnessing Filipino Global Power in Advancing the Philippines’ Cultural, Economic, and Political Goals,” coincides with the CFO’s 46th anniversary on June 16, 2026. It aims to serve as a strategic platform to move beyond traditional migration management and toward a future where the diaspora is a cornerstone of the country’s national development.

related to K to 12 and other Updates from DepEd

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) would like to invite all the Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs) to participate in the organized webinar of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) on Understanding Issuances related to K to 12 and other updates from the Department of Education. This aims to help private schools, including the PSOs, understand government policies and requirements that affect their operations.

In coordination with PEAC, this free Zoom webinar for PSOs will be held at 2:00 p.m. (Manila Time) on 18 March 2026. Each PSO is given only two (2) slots for the said webinar. For more details on the webinar and registration steps, please click this link: https://forms.office.com/r/RLPirxs8dw.

𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas announced Monday that all Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs) in Middle Eastern territories affected by the escalating conflict involving Iran remain safe and operational. Some schools have shifted to online classes following directives from their respective host countries.

Following coordinated check-calls initiated by the CFO Monday morning, school administrators across the region confirmed that their students, faculty, and facilities remain unaffected by the current hostilities.

The CFO’s proactive outreach serves as a critical pulse check on the safety of the Filipino academic community during this period of heightened geopolitical tension.

𝐂𝐅𝐎 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋𝐒 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) asks overseas Filipinos to exercise discretion when enrolling in "institutes" or "training centers" overseas that market themselves as Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs).
Enrolling in these institutions does not guarantee a standard of education, may result in unaccredited academic units, higher tuition, and other issues arising from studying outside the official curriculum of the Department of Education.
As of writing, there are only 35 accredited PSOs across the globe. Please be advised that only the following schools have Permits to Operate or Government Recognition from the Philippine government:

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Philippine Schools Overseas Secretariat wishes to congratulate the following schools who stood triumphant during the conduct of the 2025 Virtual Sentro Rizal - Philippine Schools Overseas (VSR-PSO) Online Quiz Bee on the Life, Works, and Writings of Dr. Jose Rizal, held in the last quarter of 2025.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 secured first place in both elementary and junior high school categories; represented by Mr. Liam Y. Dela Vega & Mr. Bryan Jerry D. Holgado, and Ms. Isabella A. Alan & Mr. Rojan Raine J. Pinto, respectively.

The 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗮𝗵 came in second for both categories; represented by Ms. Darlene Athena Vendivil & Ms. Audrei Erickhan Manlapas for elementary, and Mr. Nizam M. Amerol & Ms. Chloe A. Abude for junior high school.

Placing third for the elementary category was 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗵𝗮, represented by Ms. Marleena Trixie B. Desierto & Mr. Vanric Christfyrd D. Zarate; securing third place for the junior high school category was 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗻, represented by Mr. Chriven Dale R. Baylosis & Ms. Charlize Rhauane P. Tecson.

Apart from securing this year’s titles as victors, the aforementioned will also receive certificates, plaques, exclusive Rizal portraits painted by notable overseas Filipino artist and Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO) laureate, Mr. Virgilio Cuizon.
