RA 10121 or Philippine Disaster Reduction and Management Act is a learned experience from the past disasters in which the national government have developed its response from mitigation to preparedness and prevention thus, institutionalizing the national disaster risk reduction and management plan, appropriating the funds and for other purposes. Executive Order no. 23 series of 2010, a mandated decree pursuant to RA 10121 which organized the Quezon City Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management Council to address the needs of the local government when it comes to disasters and hazards, redefining its functions, providing for its composition and for other purposes. Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council was made to strengthen the disaster approach of the local government of Quezon City amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and the existing hazards due to the geographic location of the Philippines, QCDRRMC has pledge in doing their extent in preparing, prevention and mitigation of any disaster, in any given situation.

The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (QCDRRMD), together with partner agencies, participates in the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training held at Citadines Hotel Roces, Quezon City.

Facilitated by the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), the three-day training brings together participants from the QCDRRMD, NDH, QCGH, RMBGH, BJMP-NCR, 1302CDC (ACDV), BCRD, and QCCSD to strengthen knowledge and skills in providing mental health and psychosocial support, particularly during emergencies and disasters.

Through continuous capacity-building and inter-agency collaboration, the training contributes to building a more prepared, resilient, and mentally responsive Quezon City.
