DILG MIMAROPA LGUs: Anchored on a Stronger LGC

After nearly a year of collecting proposals through workshops, online portals, and three submission waves, DILG MIMAROPA remains fully committed to taking this initiative to the next step. Moving beyond raw submissions, regional experts in finance, public service, and research are actively reviewing these proposals to ensure they are viable, realistic, and tailored to the unique needs of our archipelagic region.

On September 23, 2026, DILG MIMAROPA will host a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) featuring expert panelists and invited reactors from partner Local Research Institutes and National/Regional Line Agencies.

The resulting summaries and policy recommendations will be submitted to the DILG Central Office as MIMAROPA’s official contribution toward elevating local governance.

Memorandum of Agreement Signing for the 2026 Third-Party Monitoring of LGSF Infrastructure Projects

DILG MIMAROPA led by Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO IV and Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the 2026 Third-Party Monitoring of LGSF Infrastructure Projects on September 17, 2026 at the DILG MIMAROPA Regional Office.

Serving as witnesses to the signing ceremony were, Atty. Petrovich B. Tamag, Atty. Pilipinas D. Baclayen, LGMED Chief Andrew B. Gonzalvo, Budget Officer Mary Ann Nogot, Financial Analyst Maria Loraine Suyko and Project Evaluation Officer Judenn Mascareñas together with Angelito D. Espino Jr., Area Development Officer of Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc., who represented its Executive Director, Daniel R. Bercasio.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that LGSF infrastructure projects are implemented efficiently, responsibly, and in accordance with established standards, ultimately contributing to sustainable development for communities.

ALAM N’YO BA? | Pinagdiriwang tuwing ikatlong Sabado ng Setyembre ang International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC)

Ang International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) ay isang pandaigdigang volunteer movement na nagsimula noong 1986 at ginawang opisyal sa Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 470 (2003). Tuwing ikatlong Sabado ng Setyembre, libo-libong volunteers sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa ang naglilinis ng baybayin, ilog, at dagat upang makatulong sa mas maayos na waste management policies.

Ngayong 2026, ang tema ay “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities”. Binibigyang diin nito na ang malinis na karagatan ay susi sa mas matibay na komunidad mula sa proteksyon ng marine ecosystems hanggang sa kabuhayan ng mga mangingisda at tugunan ang mga hamon ng climate change na kinakaharap ng ating pamayanan

Nakikiisa ang DILG sa pagdiriwang na ito sa pamamagitan ng paghikayat sa mga lokal na pamahalaan na magsagawa ng regular na clean-up drives, isama ang marine litter reduction targets sa kanilang solid waste management plans, at palakasin ang kanilang kampanya laban sa marine pollution. Sa ganitong paraan, naipapasa ang mensahe ng ICC mula pambansang antas hanggang barangay level.

𝗲𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗜 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡.

The TRAINING ON ELECTRONIC LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT SYSTEM was successfully conducted through the collaborative efforts of the DILG MIMAROPA and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) MIMAROPA.

The activity equipped LGU personnel with the necessary knowledge and technical skills in implementing the eLGU System to promote streamlined processes, reduce red tape, and enhance efficient, inclusive, and citizen-centered public service delivery. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops, system simulations, and module discussions covering eCedula, Local Civil Registry, eGovPay, eNews, and the Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS).

Together, we move closer toward building digitally empowered LGUs that are not only efficient and responsive, but also gender-responsive, disability-inclusive, and accessible to all sectors of the community through inclusive and people-centered governance.

DILG MIMAROPA JOINS 32ND NATIONAL CRIME PREVENTION WEEK REGIONAL CULMINATING CEREMONY

LOOK | The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Palawan joined partner agencies and stakeholders in the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) Regional Culminating Ceremony held on September 11, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Palawan Police Provincial Office, Camp Higinio Mendoza, Barangay Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa City.

Anchored on the theme “Strengthening Civilian Oversight and Collective Action for Safer Communities,” the activity brought together representatives from national government agencies, law enforcement institutions, local government units, and other stakeholders to reaffirm their shared commitment to crime prevention, public safety, and stronger inter-agency collaboration.

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), in collaboration with its partner agencies, presented the Plaque of Recognition for the Regional Winner of the Gallantry Awards to the Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA headed by PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz, in recognition of its dedication and exemplary service.

The ceremony also included the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the establishment of the Regional Tripartite Council for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (RTCCPCJ), signifying the participating agencies’ commitment to strengthened coordination and collective action in advancing crime prevention and criminal justice initiatives in the region.
