On May 22, 2026, the Rizal Library was honored to host an academic exchange and library tour for a delegation of international business leaders. As part of their training in Le Cordon Bleu, members of the Association Progrès du Management (APM)—a network of French business leaders and executives—visited the library. The event brought together French-speaking senior executives from different business industries, including construction, technology, energy, and hospitality.
The visit featured an insightful discussion on the library's role in fostering Ateneo’s intellectual heritage and shaping future leaders, led by our University Librarian, Joenabie Arevalo, and Mark James Cayabyab, Head Librarian of the Reference and Information Services Section. Following the discussion, the executives toured different areas of the library, including the First Pacific Hall, the Special Collections' Microform and Digital Resources Center, and the Ateneo Library of Women’s Writings. This was in coordination with Le Cordon Bleu.

The Rizal Library recently partnered with Kritika Kultura for an academic exchange with the Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies (CCCS) of Kyung Hee University last May 22, 2026.
As part of their campus tour, the delegates visited the Special Collections, getting an up-close look at rare materials from its various sections and the Treasures of the Rizal Library exhibition. Featured highlights included first-edition copies of Jose Rizal's major works, his memorabilia, and his bust by National Artist Guillermo Tolentino (1930). The group similarly explored rare literary pieces from the Paterno Family Collection and the rich resources of the Window on Korea collection.
We are incredibly grateful to our guests for the generous donation of their own published books. The turnover was received on May 23, 2026, by University Librarian Joenabie Arevalo, Deputy University Librarian for Technical Services Sonia Lourdes David, and Deputy University Librarian for Special Collections Rosalyn Diño.

Our University Librarian, Joenabie Arevalo, and the Deputy University Librarian for Special Collections, Rosalyn Dino, recently participated in the 21st AUNILO Business Meeting and Workshop.
Joined by fellow library administrators from the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) and De La Salle University (DLSU), they shared institutional initiatives and discussed the evolving challenges facing the future of libraries. A major highlight was attending a workshop on strategic foresight, which provided forward-thinking insights to strengthen our academic communities.

IMPORTANT SERVICE UPDATE: Library Schedule & Future Services
We know the grind doesn't stop, but safety comes first!
With the Luzon Grid under Red Alert from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, we don't want anyone stuck in a dark library like last May 13.
Please be advised that RL All-Night is cancelled for tonight. We are only open until 5:00 pm today due to Digital Day.
We are re-evaluating our late-night operations to adapt to ongoing power and oil challenges, which may include a pause of the All-Night program next semester. Your safety is our top priority, and this shift ensures we can provide a stable, secure environment for everyone.
Stay safe, stay charged, and head home early!
