In line with Proclamation No. 470, series of 1994, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) CALABARZON held its Elderly Week Celebration on October 19, 2026, at the Conrado Estrella Building, DAR Compound, Quezon City, with the theme, โ€œNakatatandang Pilipino: May Halaga at Karapatan, May Boses at Ambag sa Bayan.โ€

The activity was attended by employees of the regional office and Ms. Levita S. Adheres of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) CALABARZON served as the resource speaker. She discussed the rights and privileges of senior citizens, including the laws that protect their welfare and promote their well-being.

The event emphasized the importance of respecting, caring for, and protecting senior citizens, as well as ensuring that they receive the benefits and privileges they deserve. It also served as a reminder that older persons remain valuable members of society whose experiences, wisdom, and contributions deserve recognition.

Selected employees of DAR CALABARZON participated in a Public Service Values Program Training conducted by the Civil Service Commission on October 15, 2026. The activity featured Ms. Primalee Bigornia as the facilitator and Ms. Orchid N. Leonor as the resource speaker.

The training focused on the four core public service values: Patriotism, Integrity, Excellence, and Spirituality. Because of the informative discussions and engaging activities the participants gained a deeper understanding of how these values can guide them in their daily work and service to the public.

The activity reinforced the importance of upholding good values and strengthening the commitment of public servants to serve with honesty, dedication, and excellence.

Keeping Records Right, Keeping Service Efficient

DAR CALABARZON conducted a two-day Records Management Training-Workshop on October 13โ€“14, 2026 which was attended by selected employees and graced by OIC-RCAO Atty. Mimi T. Pulicay and Assistant Regional Director Atty. John Erick Sawal.

The event was facilitated by Regional Records Officer Ms. Erlinda Bacsal, the activity featured Ms. Hanna Galit of the DAR Central Office as resource speaker. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, the participants gained a better understanding of proper records handling and management.

The workshop emphasized the importance of keeping records organized, accurate, and accessible to support efficient and reliable public service.

DAR CALABARZON personnel officers met on October 8 to discuss and address various human resource concerns for the benefit of the region. The meeting was graced by RCAO Atty. Mimi T. Vicente-Pulicay and facilitated by Regional Personnel Officer Ms. Elizabeth Ruiz. It was a productive discussion that helped clarify and address key HR concerns.

DAR CALABARZON, through Assistant Regional Director Atty. John Erick Sawal and RCAO Atty. Mimi T. Vicente-Pulicay recently held a seminar on QMS Internal Audit that focused on the shift from ISO 19011:2018 to the newly released ISO 19011:2026.

The 3-day workshop walked participants through the key changes in ISO certification and how these should guide our work in moving forward. It wasn't just lectures, in fact, hands-on activities and exercises made the sessions truly interactive, helping everyone better understand the updates and how to apply proper auditing practices.

Our thanks to resource speaker Mr. Leandro Bautista for sharing his expertise, and to Ms. Lina Sta. Barbara for facilitating the event.
