📢 Positive Parenting FAQs: What Parents Need to Know | Part 1

NATIONAL ADHD AWARENESS WEEK 💙

DSWD PRESS RELEASE: DSWD reiterates need to strengthen anti-child bullying measures, protect children’s right to safe learning environment
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reiterates its call to strengthen and urgently enforce anti-child bullying measures to prevent its escalation into violence.

“Preventing child bullying, whether online or offline, is not the responsibility of one institution alone. It requires everyone’s cooperation. We must teach our children that respect is non-negotiable, that differences are never a reason to hurt others, and that seeking help when someone is being harmed is an act of bravery,” the DSWD spokesperson said. A Safe Environment for Children Starts With Adults Who Listen 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

DSWD Frontline Responders Undergo Psychosocial Debriefing to Reinforce Emotional Resilience 💙

Behind every service delivered during times of crisis are frontline responders who also need care and support.

To safeguard their mental health and emotional well-being, the DSWD Protective Services Bureau (PSB) conducted a psychosocial debriefing session for frontline responders of DSWD Field Office (FO) 8 – Eastern Visayas, led by Dr. Angelique Villasanta of the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Psychology.

Through mindfulness exercises, expressive art therapy, and peer connection activities, participants were given the opportunity to process their emotions, share experiences, and identify ways to support one another in the workplace.

Because caring for those who serve others is an essential part of sustaining their well-being and resilience in the face of the challenges of humanitarian work.

DSWD PRESS RELEASE: DSWD condemns all forms of child sexual abuse; reminds parents to protect, nurture their children

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has condemned acts of sexual abuse against children as the agency reminded parents of their responsibility to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for their children.

Secretary Irene Dumlao, the DSWD spokesperson, said on Friday (October 16).(YADP)

DSWD, partner agencies formulate Tacloban multi-disciplinary action plan on day 2 of child protection workshop

To further fortify child protection systems and enhance inter-agency emergency response in Region VIII, the DSWD Protective Services Bureau (PSB) and DSWD Field Office VIII successfully completed the second day of the School Safety and Child Protection Policy Orientation and Workshop at The Tropics at MacArthur Park Resort and Convention Center in Tacloban City.

The final day featured key sessions on community safety frameworks, emerging digital threats such as Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE), and an intensive workshop where child protection advocates, case managers, and multi-agency representatives crafted the Tacloban Multi-Disciplinary Action Plan.

The output outlines concrete action items across four core pillars: Building Safe Environments, Threat Assessment & Early Intervention, Incident Response, and Accountability & Recovery.
