Walang Kukurap: Women Against Corruption
The recent exposรฉ on corruption on flood control projects has taken the nation by storm. The intricate web of political influence, fund insertions, and diversion to private pockets have implicated government officials, politicians, and private contractors on a national scale. When the whistle was blown exposing anomalies in fund allocations, billions of Philippine pesos had already been stolen from the government coffers built up from the peopleโs taxes.
How far the investigations go in apprehending the corrupt remains unclear. In this context, how can Filipino women, as part of nation-building, position themselves against corruption? As women located in government service, in academia, as workers in industries, agriculture and services, and as students, how do they perceive their role in the fight against corruption?
In celebration of Women's Month, the Gender and Development Committee of the UP Department of Philosophy, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, UP Diliman, the Gender and Wellness Committee of the UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations, the AUN - Gender Justice and Inclusion, the Philippine Civil Service Commission, and the UP Sigma Beta Sorority Diliman Elders Council bring you "Walang Kukurap: Women Against Corruption".
Beginning with an online video message relay on Women's Day, March 8, 2026, and culminating with an in-person panel discussion on March 13, 2026 (10:00-11:30AM), Pilar Herrera Hall, CSSP, UP Diliman, "Walang Kukurap: Women Against Corruption" sheds light on the role of women against corruption.
