𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐌𝐏𝐋, 𝐦𝐚𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨?

Kasabay ng pagdami ng bumibisita sa Summit ng MMPL ay ang pagdami rin ng mga hamon sa pangangalaga at waste management sa lugar. Bagama’t may mga basura ring nagmumula sa iba’t ibang sources, kabilang ang mga kalapit na komunidad, isa rin sa mga nakikitang hamon ang iresponsableng pagtatapon ng ilang bisita.

Sa kabila ng malinaw na orientation at pagpapaalala tungkol sa mga patakaran, may ilan pa ring hikers na nag-iiwan ng wet wipes at iba pang basura sa mga trail at campsite.

Ang ecotourism ay may kaakibat na responsibilidad. Habang mas maraming tao ang nabibigyan ng pagkakataong makita at maranasan ang ganda ng MMPL, mas kailangan nating maging responsable sa pagprotekta rito.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | Workshop on the Formulation of MMPL Internal Guidelines for Ecotourism Areas and Activities.

Nagsagawa ng unang workshop ang Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape – Protected Area Management Office (MMPL-PAMO) sa pangunguna ng Protected Area Superintendent, Renato S. Gonzaga at POSu Mildred A. Suza, Chief of Conservation and Development Division, DENR–MIMAROPA, kasama ang Palawan Provincial Tourism Office Representative, Ms. Maribel Buñi at Mr. Mark Kenneth Camama at Municipal Tourism Offices ng limang LGU na sakop ng protected area.

Layunin ng workshop na ito na simulan ang pagbuo ng mas malinaw at angkop na guidelines para sa pamamahala ng mga ecotourism destinations sa loob ng Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape (MMPL). Kasabay ng patuloy na pagdami ng interes ng mga turista na bumisita sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng protected area, mahalagang magkaroon ng maayos na sistema at mga panuntunan upang matiyak na ang mga tourism activities ay ligtas, responsable, at hindi makokompromiso ang biodiversity, natural resources, at cultural values ng MMPL.

Tinalakay rin sa workshop ang mga kasalukuyang practices, issues and concerns, visitor management, community participation, site sensitivity, at iba pang considerations na maaaring maging batayan sa pagbuo ng guidelines para sa iba’t ibang ecotourism destinations.

Hindi pa dito nagtatapos ang proseso. Susundan pa ito ng serye ng consultations at workshops kasama ang mga concerned offices, communities, stakeholders, at iba pang partners upang mas mapag-aralan at ma-refine ang mga proposed guidelines bago ito isailalim sa kaukulang proseso ng pagsusuri at pag-apruba.

Ang layunin natin ay hindi ang paghihigpit, kundi ang pagbuo ng mas maayos, ligtas, responsable, at sustainable na ecotourism management system para sa ating mga bisita, local communities, at higit sa lahat, para sa pangmatagalang proteksyon ng MMPL.

📌 Para sa mga nais bumisita sa MMPL: hinihiling po namin ang inyong pakikiisa, pasensya, at pang-unawa habang patuloy naming inaayos ang mga kinakailangang guidelines at management measures. Patuloy po kaming magbibigay ng opisyal na updates sa sandaling ma-finalize at maaprubahan ang mga ito.

Maraming salamat sa Municipality of Bataraza, sa pangunguna ni Mayor Al-Shariff W. Ibba at Sir Valentino Palasigue sa pag-host at pagbibigay ng venue para sa mahalagang workshop na ito.

Sama-sama nating buuin ang mas responsableng ecotourism para sa MMPL. 🌿⛰️

NOTICE ON ACCESS TO AREAS WITHIN THE MT. MANTALINGAHAN PROTECTED LANDSCAPE

The Municipal Tourism Office of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, Palawan reminds the public that access to areas within the Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape (MMPL) is subject to applicable protected area laws, rules, regulations, and permitting requirements.

Access to the following areas within the MMPL, among others, is subject to prior coordination and authorization:

• Blue Lagoon
• Green Lagoon
• Lungsod Cave
• Magtayob Falls
• Turbong Falls

Individuals, groups, tour organizers, and other parties intending to enter or conduct any activity within these areas are advised to coordinate first with the Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape – Protected Area Management Office (MMPL-PAMO) and secure the necessary approval, permits, clearances, or other authorizations before proceeding.

Please do not enter or conduct activities within these areas without the required authorization.

These measures are intended to ensure compliance with protected area regulations, proper monitoring and visitor safety, and the protection and conservation of the Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape.

|| 𝐈𝐊𝐀-𝟏𝟕 𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐎 𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐓. 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐄 (𝐌𝐌𝐏𝐋)

Tuwing Hunyo 23, ginugunita ng Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape (MMPL) ang anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag nito bilang isang protected area. Noong 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐲𝐨 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟗, sa bisa ng 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟖𝟏𝟓, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟗, nilagdaan ni dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang proklamasyon na nagtalaga sa Mt. Mantalingahan Mountain Range bilang isang Protected Landscape sa ilalim ng National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) Act of 1992. Ang proklamasyong ito ang naging mahalagang hakbang sa pangangalaga ng isa sa pinakamahalagang kagubatan at biodiversity areas ng Palawan.

Sa temang “𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒃𝒐 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏: 𝑼𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒊𝒏, 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏,” matagumpay na ipinagdiwang ng MMPL ang ika-17 taon ng pagkakaisa at pangangalaga sa kalikasan.

Matagumpay na idinaos ang pagdiriwang sa pangunguna ni SVEMS Renato Gonzaga, OIC CENRO Brooke's Point and Concurrent PASu ng MMPL katuwang ang Protected Area Management Office (PAMO) na ginanap noong Hunyo 23, 2026 sa Sitio Kakawitan, Bgy. Tagusao, Quezon, Palawan, kung saan nagtipon-tipon ang mga katutubo, katuwang ang mga tagapangalaga ng MMPL upang gunitain ang mahalagang okasyong ito at patatagin ang kanilang pangako sa pangangalaga ng kalikasan.

Nakiisa sa pagdiriwang sina Hon. Richristopher Magbanua, kinatawan ni Congressman Jose Chaves Alvarez (JCA) ng Ikalawang Distrito ng Palawan, Hon. Lily G. Torrico, Municipal Mayor ng Quezon, Sir Valentino Palasigue, kinatawan ng Municipyo ng Bataraza, CENRO Leonard T. Caluya ng CENRO Quezon, Palawan, kasama ang mga Punong Barangay at iba pang mga miyembro ng Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), mga katuwang mula sa NGOs, at iba pang stakeholders.

Hindi magiging matagumpay ang pagdiriwang na ito kung hindi dahil sa walang sawang suporta at pakikiisa ng ating PAMB Members—mga Punong Barangay, mga Municipal Mayor mula sa mga Munisipyo ng Bataraza, Brooke’s Point, Quezon, Rizal, at Sofronio Española, DENR-CENRO Quezon personnel at ng Conservation International Philippines. Gayundin, taos-puso rin ang aming pasasalamat sa mga indibidwal na nagpaabot ng kanilang mga donasyon at tulong sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng mga gamit, damit, at iba pang pangangailangan para sa pagdiriwang.

Ang inyong kabutihang-loob at suporta ay patunay na ang pangangalaga sa Mt. Mantalingahan ay isang sama-samang adhikain at isang responsibilidad na pinagbubuklod ng malasakit para sa kalikasan at sa komunidad.

Mula sa mga kabundukan hanggang sa mga pamayanan, patuloy nating ipagdiwang ang ugnayang nagbibigay-buhay sa kalikasan at sa ating pagkakakilanlan.

𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧 | Nagkaisa ang Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape – Protected Area Management Office (MMPL-PAMO), sa pangunguna ng Protected Area Superintendent na si Renato S. Gonzaga, at ang Conservation International Philippines sa pagsasagawa ng MMPL PAMB Capacity Building on Protected Area Governance and Management noong February 18–19.

Dumalo rito ang Mayor ng Quezon na si Hon. Lily G. Torrico, PENRO Felizardo B. Cayatoc, CENRO Leonard T. Caluya, mga Barangay Captain, kinatawan ng Religious Sector, at IP Representatives, lahat may iisang layunin: higit pang mapalakas ang pamamahala at pangangalaga sa ating protected area.

Nagbahagi rin si Atty. Jazmin Althea ng mahahalagang kaalaman tungkol sa legal frameworks for protected area management at mga environmental laws, at kung paano ito epektibong maipapatupad sa MMPL.

Tinalakay rin sa aktibidad ang mahahalagang usapin tungkol sa management zoning at sustainable financing, bilang bahagi ng pagpapalakas ng pamamahala at pangmatagalang pagpapanatili ng protected area.

Bilang bahagi ng aktibidad, nagsagawa ng role play ang mga kalahok gamit ang mga scenario na hango sa totoong sitwasyon sa loob ng MMPL. Ipinakita nila kung paano ito aaksyunan sa totoong sitwasyon, naipamalas ang kanilang pag-unawa, tamang pagdedesisyon, at pagsunod sa wastong proseso. Binigyang-diin din dito ang kahalagahan ng koordinasyon, malinaw na komunikasyon, at pagsunod sa batas sa pamamahala ng protected area.

Dalawang araw itong naging puno ng pagkatuto, makabuluhang diskusyon, at pagpapalalim ng ating commitment para sa MMPL.

Para sa mas maayos na pamamahala, para sa mas protektadong Mt. Mantalingahan.
