Held as part of the Vietnamese leaderโ€™s State Visit to the Philippines, the luncheon featured cultural dance performances by Filipino artists that showcased the richness and diversity of Philippine heritage, while highlighting the enduring friendship, mutual respect, and growing people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Marcos Jr. and His Excellency Tรด Lรขm, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, deliver their keynote messages during the Viet Namโ€“Philippines Business Forum at the Diamond Hotel in the City of Manila on June 1, 2026.

Bringing together about 600 business leaders and representatives, the Forum serves as a venue for discussions on trade, investment, innovation and economic cooperation โ€” further strengthening bilateral relations and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries.

Viet Nam has become a significant partner of the Philippines in trade and investment. In 2025, it ranked as the countryโ€™s 11th largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching US$7.17 billion.

Marking a new chapter in bilateral relations, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Vietnamese President and General Secretary To Lam witnessed the signing of four key agreements during the Joint Press Conference held as part of President To Lamโ€™s two-day State Visit to the Philippines. The agreements cover defense cooperation between the two countriesโ€™ defense ministries, a Tourism Cooperation Program for 2026 to 2029, a partnership on information technology and digital transformation between DICT and Vietnamโ€™s Ministry of Science and Technology, and an academic linkage between the University of the Philippines and the Academy of Public Administration and Governance under Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
