RUG MAKING AND RECYCLING WORKSHOP | JUNE 21, 2025

Last Saturday, Teresa Elementary School became a vibrant hub of creativity and community spirit as we held the Rug Making and Recycling Workshop with over 150 participants from various sectors, from youth to our beloved senior citizens.

This meaningful event was spearheaded by PICPA Eastern Metro Manila and PICPA Rizal, in collaboration with Angat Teresa, Oo Naman Club, TFOSCA (Teresa Federation of Senior Citizens Association), and the Local Government of Teresa.

The Rug Making activity aimed to promote livelihood opportunities in Teresa, offering both a potential source of income and a productive hobby, especially for our senior citizens.

Meanwhile, the Recycling Workshop transformed used materials such as old tarpaulins from the previous elections into eco-friendly bags, pots, and more. This initiative not only helps reduce waste but also encourages creativity and environmental awareness, showing that even campaign materials can be repurposed for the good of the community.

Angat Taytay is deeply grateful to the UP Industrial Engineering Club (UP IE Club) for their invaluable support in developing an operations manual that strengthens Angat Taytay's volunteer mobilization and streamlines partnership coordination — areas that are both critical components in the work of non-government organizations.

The meeting also covered key programs and priorities for the remainder of 2025, setting the direction for more responsive, community-centered efforts in the months ahead.

At Angat Taytay, we remain committed in building and strengthening partnerships that continue to build a foundation for long-term impact — grounded in systems that work and partnerships that empower.

MAS MAGAAN KUNG NAGBABAYANIHAN 💪🏼

Opisyal nang nagsimula ang sa ating kickoff areas: Las Piñas City, San Mateo, Rizal, at Naga City — sa tulong ng ating Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network!

Nakasama natin si Chairperson Atty. Leni Robredo, Executive Director Raffy Magno, at mga volunteers sa paglilinis at pagpipinta sa San Rafael Elementary School, Naga City.

Pinangunahan naman ng ANGAT SAN MATEO, volunteers ng QC District 2, at ni Angat Buhay Corporate Secretary Atty. Stella Pastores-Esquivias ang reading sessions para sa halos 45 Grades 2 and 4 students ng Banaba Elementary School sa San Mateo, Rizal. Bukod dito, namahagi rin tayo ng storybooks at writing materials para sa mga bata.

Nag-umpisa na rin kahapon ang Brigada Eskwela ng Liyab Las Piñas, at ngayong araw ay isinagawa na ang reading sessions kasama ang mga bata.

Sa mga susunod na araw, sama-sama at tuloy-tuloy ang ating Brigada Eskwela sa Capiz, Laguna, Bulacan, Quezon City, Pasig City, at Mandaluyong City para sa mas maayos at makulay na balik-eswela ng bayang bumabasa. 💗

This year, we have seen a sharp and deeply concerning rise in HIV cases across the country. According to recent data, the Philippines is now reporting an average of over 50 new cases every day, a staggering increase from just a decade ago. While part of this may be attributed to expanded access to testing and more open conversations around sexual health, it remains alarming—especially as global funding and international solidarity on HIV response continue to decline. This threatens to weaken the coordinated efforts we’ve built over the years.

Angat Buhay is partnering with LoveYourself Inc and Castro Communications to open at least five additional treatment hubs in high-need areas where we currently operate over the course of the project. These hubs will work closely with city and municipal governments to scale up not just free testing and education campaigns, but also ensure that those who test positive have access to free, life-saving treatment and care.

Our fight against HIV is a fight against stigma, exclusion, and neglect. And we believe that through strong local partnerships and shared commitment, we can build the kind of solidarity that ends this epidemic—for good.

W4W Water Filter Distribution 💦 06.14.2025

Kasama ang National Youth Volunteers Coalition, Inc., muling bumalik at namahagi ng 100 Water Filters at hand soap ang Waves For Water Philippines at Macquarie Philippines para sa mga residente ng Ibayo Maly San Mateo Rizal na ginanap sa Guinayang National High School.

Bumisita din kami sa mismong komunidad upang makita ang kalagayan ng mga residente gayundin ang pinanggagalingan ng kanilang iniinom na tubig. Ang karamihan ay nakatira malapit sa ilog at sila ang kalimitang naapektuhan ng mga pagbaha sa tuwing sasapit ang tag-ulan gayundin ang problema sa pagkakaroon ng malinis na tubig.

Maraming salamat po Waves for Water Philippines, Macquarie Philippines, NYVC, sa pamunuan ng Guinayang National High School, Barangay Guinayang, AFP Reservists, Angat Kababaihan at San Mateo Rizal Acting Mayor, Honorable Mary Grace Diaz para sa snacks ng ating mga bisita at technical working group.
