LINGGO NG KABATAAN 2026 | NEXT GEN DISASTER READINESS
Preparing the Next Generation. Empowering Youth. Building a Disaster-Ready Community. ๐ช๐
As part of the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, the Local Youth Development Office of Salcedo successfully conducted the NEXT GEN DISASTER READINESS training on August 27โ28, 2026 at the 2nd Floor Public Market, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur.
The two-day training was designed to equip young people with practical knowledge, essential skills, and confidence to respond effectively during emergencies and disasters. ๐จ
Throughout the activity, our young participants were introduced to and trained in:
โ
BLS-SFA Training โ Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid, providing participants with fundamental life-saving and first-aid skills.
โ
Rope Rescue Training โ introducing essential techniques and safety practices for rope-based rescue and emergency situations.
โ
Fire Safety Training โ strengthening awareness and practical knowledge on fire prevention, fire safety, and appropriate response during fire emergencies.
These hands-on learning experiences helped our youth understand that disaster preparedness is not only the responsibility of respondersโit is a shared responsibility that begins with an informed, prepared, and empowered community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Grazielle โNinyaโ Gironella-Itchon, for her continued support and commitment to empowering the youth and providing opportunities that strengthen their capacity to become disaster-ready, responsible, and resilient members of the community. ๐
Our sincere appreciation also goes to our invaluable partner offices and training providers:
โ
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC)
โ
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) โ Salcedo
โ
Rural Health Unit (RHU) โ Salcedo
Your expertise, dedication, and willingness to share your knowledge made this training meaningful and impactful for our young participants.
To all the young people of Salcedo who participated, listened, learned, practiced, and stepped forward to become part of our community's disaster preparedness effortsโthank you! ๐
