‎Tila walang nagbabago, andyan pa rin ang pahirap na hybrid learning setup at patong-patong na bayarin ng mga Tamaraws.

‎Kaya ngayong January 12, unang araw ng ikalawang semestre, ipakita natin ang sama-samang lakas ng mga Tamaraws at bitbitin ang ating mga panawagan!

Itong nakaraang linggo, sunod-sunod ang paglabas ng katotohanan. Naglabas ng statement si Zaldy Co na itinuturo si Presidenteng Bongbong Marcos Jr. bilang isa sa mga utak ng korupsyon—kabilang si, dating House speaker, Martin Romualdez. Patuloy na ipinapa-ikot ang mga isyu nang hindi dumadaan sa maayos na proseso. Napakarami na ang mga nasawi at na-detain na mga nagpoprotesta at wala paring nananagot na sangkot sa katiwalian.

Walang mangyayari hangga’t nakaupo ang mga gahaman at walang pakundangan sa kanilang nasasakupan.

During the assembly, an educational discussion about political corruption was discussed. The chapter also assessed the chapter re-building and planned its activities for the remaining quarter of 2025 focusing on campaigns such as TFI and Hybrid Learning setup in FEU and national issues.

‎Nitong September 29, ipinakita natin ang tunay na diwa ng sama-samang pagkilos mula sa lampas isang libong Tamaraws na lumahok sa nangyaring university walkout para ipanawagan ang pagbabago sa sistema at kondenahin ang pahirap at pasistang rehimen ng US-Marcos-Duterte.

‎At sa darating na October 17, muli tayong lumabas sa ating mga silid-aralan at sama-samang lumahok sa Day of Walkout against Corruption. Ipakita natin ang diwa ng pagiging militante kasama ang iba pang mga pamantasan mula sa University Belt, Intramuros, Taft, at Katipunan.

TAMARAWS, CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TUITION FEE INCREASE, BLENDED LEARNING, AND POLITICAL CORRUPTION!

Last September 29, Tamaraws united through a more than 1,000 strong walkout to air mass discontent against Tuition Fee Increase, Blended Learning Setup, and Political Corruption. This was also organized in the context of increasing public discontent against a system that actively surpresses the interests of the 99%.

Like a Sea of Gold, Tamaraws flooded the streets to show the FEU and Marcos Jr administration that our student movement is a force to be reckoned with. Despite unexpected torrential rain, the walkout continued on, with some students invited to the open mic event to air out their frustrations.

Such frustrations stem from the anti-student policies of the FEU administration, and even corruption on the national stage. Lest we forget, it was the Marcos Jr’s administration’s policies that continue drowning our nation in debt, and enabling corruption among public officials. Let us also remember Sara Duterte’s unexplained confidential funds, and the fact that her office’s budget was approved so quickly recently. It is no wonder that so many students around the nation are angry, because the crises gets worse but so shall our resistence!

Kabatan Partylist FEU wholeheartedly stands with the student body through these frustrations against the commercialized educational and corrupt political system. We stand with students in battling for their right to be heard by the university administration. If we are still not taken seriously through this walkout, this would only validate why Tamaraws are angry at the state of affairs in the university and the nation to begin with.

Let this walkout show that the militant spirit of Tamaraws is very much alive. Let’s prove the power of the student movement to change the system into a national, scientific, and mass-oriented one!

𝗕𝗔𝗛𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗔 𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗨𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗦

It was September 21, 53 years ago, that then President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. proclaimed Martial Law, shrouding the entire nation in deeper corruption and oppression. Though the roots have been planted long before Marcos Sr’s rule, corruption within the highest public offices remains a staple in our politics as it had 53 years ago.

Filipino history is dotted with examples of the student-youth taking to the streets to protest against political corruption. We saw this again during the EDSA Revolutions, when the student-youth alligned with different sectors of Filipino society to oust Marcos Sr. and Erap. The rallies during September 21 were just part of a long history of Filipino resistence.

Now, as climate change mixes with misuse of public funds by politicians and contractors, the basic Filipino masses become more vulnerable to flooding and other natural disasters. Now, the Filipino people are fed up and angry which is why such protests continue being organized.

On top of all of that, Tamaraws bear the brunt of Tuition Fee Increase while the burden of learning shifts to students and teachers through Hybrid Learning. Aside from an increasingly exorbitant Basic Tuition Fee, students and teachers must continue paying fees for online learning materials while ensuring internet connectivity, itself unreliable given the sorry state of infrastructure in the Philippines. All the while, the administration refuses to account for such policies, refusing to hold a Tuition Fee Consultation last year. As student-youth, we face the double burden of a corrupt political system and educational system while we face an uncertain future in a nation where the buying power of wages go down and the cost of living increases.

Anger is valid and protest is justified. We are the victims of a system that has long treated us as cash cows for the greedy elite. The state may send as many policemen and soldiers as they can, but our forces will always be stronger so long as we become organized!

As such, Kabataan Partylist FEU vehemently condemns such blatant corruption, making fools of the masses while the wealthy elites continue growing richer. We realize that so long as the Filipino masses continue enduring such crises, our colorful tradition of resistence shall only grow stronger.

Thus, we call on the student-youth to open their eyes to the fact that the only way to fight corruption is to strengthen the student-youth movement. We must combine our forces with the women, workers, farmers, LGBTQ+, and other sectors of Filipino society if we want to realize genuine and lasting change.

Tamaraws, do not be afraid of the Marcos Sr. administration or even the FEU administration. With our combined forces, we shall show the world that we are a force to be reckoned with!

Let us transform our anger into action!
