ADVISORY
WATER SUPPLY AFTER POWER INTERRUPTION
Water supply doesn’t usually come back instantly after pumping stations restart because the system has several physical and operational constraints:
Reasons for the delay:
Pipeline Refilling: When water service is interrupted, the pipelines empty or lose pressure. Restoring service requires refilling miles of pipes, which takes time.
Pressure Stabilization:
Water utilities must gradually increase pressure to avoid damaging pipes or causing bursts. Sudden surges could lead to leaks or breakages.
Air Removal:
Air pockets form inside pipelines during outages. Utilities often need to flush the system to remove trapped air before water flows smoothly.
Quality Checks:
Utilities sometimes test water quality after restarting pumps to ensure safety, which can delay distribution.
Demand Surge:
When service resumes, everyone starts using water at once. This sudden demand can slow pressure recovery until the system balances out.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we continue to find ways to serve you better.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
LOW WATER PRESSURE TO NO WATER SUPPLY
Please be informed that most areas may currently experience low water pressure or no supply due to El Niño that causes a decrease in water table levels. The occurrence of the El Niño worsens water scarcity that brings prolonged periods of drought, resulting in decreased water availability and increased temperatures. The prolonged dry spell has lowered the static water level in deep wells leading to extreme impacting water sources, reducing the volume of water that pumps can extract per minute, which may contribute to water shortages in certain barangays.
As part of our commitment to improving our services, the San Antonio Water District currently has an ongoing construction of a new Pumping Station located at Brgy. Pundakit. This project is a vital step toward strengthening the town’s water supply system and ensuring residents have reliable access to clean and sufficient water. The pumping station is designed to improve water distribution across the town, addressing long-standing challenges in water availability, especially during peak demand and the dry season. In hopes that once completed, the facility will significantly enhance the efficiency of water delivery and contribute to the overall well-being of San Antonio.
We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation. Rest assured, safety measures are being implemented to minimize disruption. The project is expected to be completed within the scheduled timeframe, after which residents will begin to experience the benefits of a stronger and more sustainable water supply system.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working to improve our services.
