PNP STATEMENT ON THE ARREST OF A PNP PERSONNEL IN AN ENTRAPMENT OPERATION IN PRO5

The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirms the arrest of a police officer assigned at Regional Medical Unit 5 following an entrapment operation conducted by PRO5 authorities in Legazpi City on June 18, 2026.

The PNP has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, extortion, and all forms of misconduct. We do not tolerate any act that compromises the integrity of the organization and the trust of the public.

This operation was initiated by the PNP itself upon receiving information regarding the officer’s alleged illegal activities. The swift action taken by our personnel reflects our commitment to accountability and our continuing internal cleansing efforts.

The PNP will ensure that the case is pursued through the proper legal and administrative processes. No rank or position exempts anyone from accountability.

This incident should serve as a warning to those who may attempt to exploit the PNP recruitment process or use their position for personal gain. Recruitment in the PNP is strictly merit-based and free from any form of payment or unauthorized intervention.
