We are now accepting a new batch of aspiring mentees from Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan who are willing to undergo and complete a 10-week intensive mentorship program anchored on improved access to Mentorship, Money, and Market (3Ms).

A mentee applicant must meet the following requirements:

✅ At least 18 years old
✅ A Filipino citizen
✅ The owner, co-owner, or business partner of a registered enterprise
✅ Business must be legally registered (with supporting documents)
✅ Business must be in operation for at least one year
✅ Must have employees and/or manage a team
✅ Willing to attend sessions on specified schedules
✅ Willing to enter into a Contract of Commitment
✅ Able to provide three (3) references who can vouch for the business
✅ For online mentees: Must have a stable internet connection (at least 1 Mbps) to attend the virtual sessions

Odiongan, Romblon — In a significant move to strengthen consumer protection at the grassroots level, the DTI Romblon officially launched its “𝗗𝗧𝗜-𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆” Program in the Municipality of Odiongan on March 31, 2026.

The initiative is part of a broader consumer advocacy campaign being rolled out across the MIMAROPA Region, aimed at empowering local communities through education, awareness, and active participation in upholding consumer rights.

The DTI-KAPartner Mo sa Barangay Program seeks to mobilize barangay officials as frontline champions of consumer protection. By equipping them with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources, the program enables them to effectively address consumer concerns, monitor market practices, and promote fair trade within their respective communities.

Central to the program is the vision of fostering a community-led movement where consumer awareness and protection are not only institutional responsibilities but shared commitments among citizens. Through strengthened collaboration between DTI and barangay units, the initiative ensures that consumer welfare becomes more accessible, responsive, and localized.

During the launch, participants were given an overview of the DTI-KAPartner Mo sa Barangay Program, with a focus on consumer education and empowerment. The activity culminated in the signing of a Pledge of Commitment, signifying the dedication of barangay officials to uphold consumer protection in their communities.

DTI emphasized that barangays play a crucial role as the first line of defense in protecting consumers, making them vital partners in promoting a culture of informed and empowered consumption.

With the implementation of the program, DTI continues to reinforce its commitment to safeguarding consumer welfare by bringing its services closer to the people—ensuring that every Filipino, even at the barangay level, is protected, informed, and empowered.

📢 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒚𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 — 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏! 🛒

From 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟏–𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, DTI - Romblon, through NCBC San Fernando, conducted its 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 to ensure that the prices of basic goods remain fair and reasonable for the public.

During the activity, seven (7) stores selling 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗕𝗡𝗣𝗖𝘀) and one (1) 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 were visited to check and record the current prices of essential products commonly bought by households.

This regular monitoring is supported by 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟕𝟓𝟖𝟏, also known as the 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭, which protects consumers from unreasonable price increases and helps keep basic goods affordable and available in the market.

DTI continues to remind both consumers and business establishments to stay informed and help promote fair pricing and responsible selling practices in our community.
