ARTIST: Benz Aya Tagulabong
TITLE: “Tagpi-Tagping Ugnay sa Alon ng Buhay”
DESCRIPTION: This sculpture captures how life is both fragmented and held together by the sea. A central figure joins two sides of a man, one half gathering food and the other navigating through the waves, showing the shared labor and resilience of communities.

Resting on layered waves, the artwork shows that our survival depends on the delicate balance of the ocean. By using found objects and old newspapers, it turns everyday scraps into a powerful symbol of lasting strength. Through the waves of life, the piece tells a story of unity. It shows how communities face the unknown together, support one another, protect the environment, and move forward as one.
