𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞, 𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥. 🤟🏻

For many, language is heard through sound. But for millions of Deaf people, language lives in movement, expression, and hands. Sign language is not simply a way to communicate—it carries stories, identity, culture, dreams, and a voice that deserves to be recognized.

On the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀, let us move beyond simply acknowledging inclusion. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻—not only with our ears, but with our willingness to understand.

𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗶 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲! 👋

After a rigorous application and a fulfilling election, we finally have our choice! Presenting 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴 as the Grade 7 Chairperson, and standing alongside her is 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗮 as the Grade 7 Representative.

Joining them is 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗝𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘇𝗮 as the Grade 11 Chairperson, with 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼 as the Grade 11 Representative.

As they begin this journey, may they carry with them a simple philosophy: “Pag-ibig ang puhunan, kagalingan ang sandata, at katalinuhan ang gabay.” Because leadership begins with the heart to serve, is strengthened by the commitment to do better, and is guided by the wisdom to know what is right.

The titles may define their roles, but it is their service that will define their leadership.

𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁.

History is not simply a collection of dates. It is made up of the experiences of people who lived through them—and September 21, 1972, remains one of the dates that Filipinos must continue to remember.

On this day 54 years ago, Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. signed Proclamation No. 1081, placing the Philippines under Martial Law. The years that followed brought sweeping changes to the country’s political institutions and placed severe restrictions on civil liberties and the press. Congress was dissolved, the 1973 Constitution reshaped the system of government, and 464 media outlets were shut down following the declaration.

But beyond these institutional changes were the lives of ordinary Filipinos.

According to figures attributed to Amnesty International, 107,240 primary victims of human rights violations were documented during the Martial Law period. These included around:

𝟳𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 arrested
𝟯𝟰,𝟬𝟬𝟬 tortured
𝟯,𝟮𝟰𝟬 killed

The period was also accompanied by serious economic challenges, increasing national debt, and controversies involving corruption and alleged ill-gotten wealth. These realities form part of the historical record that must be studied alongside the political events of the time.

For us, especially as young Filipinos, remembering is an act of responsibility. We owe it to those who experienced this period to examine historical documents, listen to firsthand accounts, question what we are told, and understand how the freedoms we exercise today came to be.

We may not have lived through Martial Law, but we inherit the responsibility to remember it.

𝑷𝑯𝑺𝑺𝑺𝑳𝑮𝒐 𝑼𝑷𝑫𝑨𝑻𝑬 | PHSSSLGo Officers Attend Anti-Bullying Campaign

In line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan, the City Youth Development Office launched an anti-bullying campaign yesterday, September 15, 2026, at the Resilience Training Center, Civic Center, bringing together young leaders and advocates to promote a safer and more inclusive community.

The symposium tackled various topics surrounding bullying, beginning with a discussion on the Basic Concepts of Human Rights Principles, facilitated by Ysobel Rivera of the Commission on Human Rights Regional Office III.

Following the discussion, participants took part in an interactive workshop featuring different scenarios encountered across various sectors of society. The activity offered a deeper understanding of the rights of each person and who should be held responsible.

The succeeding session focused on the Anti-Bullying Playbook, which provided participants with practical insights and strategies in addressing and preventing bullying, also facilitated by a representative from the Commission on Human Rights.

Dahil dito, suspendido ang klase sa Elementarya at High School sa mga pampublikong paaralan sa San Fernando sa September 14 at 15, 2026.

Layunin ng Wellness Break na bigyan ng oras ang mga g**o na magpahinga.

Sa Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education ng DepEd para sa school year 2026–2027, matatapos ang Term 1 sa September 15, at magsisimula naman ang Term 2 sa September 16. Idineklarang Wellness Break para sa mga g**o ang huling dalawang araw ng Term 1.

Sa ilalim ng Memorandum ni DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, pansamantalang ititigil ang mga pagpupulong (meetings), mga pagsasanay (trainings), mga aktibidad sa paaralan, pagpasa ng mga ulat, at iba pang katulad na gawain. Work-from-home naman ang setup para sa iba pang school-based teaching-related at non-teaching personnel.

𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗟𝗔: Hindi direktang sakop ng Three-Term School Calendar ang mga pribadong paaralan at iba pang institusyon. Narito ang probisyon ng DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026 sa bilang 5 and 6 ng SCOPE OF THE POLICY:

5. This Order shall apply to all public elementary and secondary schools, and community learning centers (CLCs).

6. For SY 2026-2027, private schools, Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs), and state or local universities and colleges (SUCs or LUCs) offering basic education may adopt these guidelines provided that they do not deviate from the required number of class days and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations (RA 11480).
