On June 17–18, 2026, the Municipality of Vintar, Ilocos Norte, under the proactive leadership of Mayor Richard Degala, took a massive, decisive step toward cementing its peace and security by launching a rigorous, two-day Community-Based Anti-Illegal Drug Advocacy Program!

Facilitated by the top-tier PDEA Training Team, this high-impact seminar gathered local village officials and members from all 33 Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) across Vintar. The intensive capacity-building initiative focused on equipping our grassroots leaders with:

Moving a massive step forward in its unwavering commitment to a peaceful, drug-free community, the Municipality of Vintar, under the proactive leadership of Mayor Richard Degala, officially inaugurated its landmark Balay Silangan Reformation Center! 🌟

This vital facility marks the 63rd Balay Silangan established in Region 1, reinforcing a unified grassroots approach to structural transformation and drug rehabilitation.

🤝 A UNIFIED, MULTI-SECTORAL OFFENSIVE
Proving that victory over illegal drugs relies on a Whole-of-Nation approach, the milestone event drew heavy presence and full support from strategic line agencies and civic partners. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the local government were representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Philippine Army, and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) rallied completely behind the local government. PDEA Ilocos Norte Provincial Officer IA V Lannibelle Posadas, alongside Atty. Samuel P. Poking Jr., proudly represented the agency to deliver an empowering congratulatory message on behalf of PDEA Region 1 Regional Director Dir. Julius M. Paderes, PhD.

PDEA IlocoscNorte- Today, June 16, 2026, at around 10:00 A.M onwards IA V Lanibelle A Posadas, Provincial Officer with Barangay Drug Clearing Officer, and PECI Officer conducted an On-site Validation to the sixteen (16) barangays of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte held at the People's Center of the said municipality.

The activity aimed to assess and validate the compliance and functionality of barangays in implementing anti-illegal drug programs, particularly in support of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program. BADAC members from the sixteen (16) barangays participated and presented their respective documents and accomplishments for evaluation. During the validation, the team carefully reviewed the submitted reports, conducted interviews, and verified the existing initiatives of each barangay to ensure alignment with the standards set for drug-cleared and drug-free status.

Technical assistance and recommendations were also provided to address identified gaps and to further strengthen the barangays’ anti-drug efforts.

Likewise, a Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) Lecture was conducted to the participating barangays, aiming to strengthen awareness on the harmful effects of illegal drugs and emphasize the importance of sustaining community-based anti-drug programs. The activity encouraged continued support and active participation in achieving and maintaining drug-cleared and drug-free barangays.

128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration 🇵🇭

On June 12, 2026, personnel of the PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Office, headed by IA V Dexter B. Asayco, Provincial Officer, proudly participated in the 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration held at the New People's Park, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

The commemorative event was led by Hon. Julio “Rammy” Parayno III, City Mayor of Urdaneta, together with Vice Mayor Jimmy “Jing” Parayno and 5th District Board Member Rose Apaga. The program featured a flag-raising ceremony and meaningful activities honoring the heroism, patriotism, and sacrifices of our Filipino forefathers in securing the nation’s freedom and independence.

PDEA Pangasinan remains steadfast in supporting national and local government initiatives that promote patriotism, unity, and public service. As we celebrate our nation's rich history and hard-earned freedom, let us continue to work together toward a safer, stronger, and drug-free Philippines.

Yesterday, June 11, 2026, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office I (PDEA RO I), led by Regional Director DIR JULIUS M. PADERES, proudly hosted and supported the Youth Instructors Training Course (YITC) organized by the Philippine Red Cross – La Union Chapter!

Carrying the powerful theme, “Rooted in Service, Creating Legacy, Yielding Change,” the event took place at the PDEA RO I Conference Room, Camp Diego Silang, Carlatan, City of San Fernando, La Union.

At around 1:00 PM, the Regional PECI Officer spearheaded a Drug Abuse Prevention Education (DAPE) lecture for the passionate youth volunteers. The session deep-dived into:

The Ill Effects of Illegal Drugs on individuals, families, and communities ⚠️

Strategies for promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle 🚫🌱

The goal? To arm our youth with the knowledge they need to become powerful advocates for safety and wellness in their own communities!

To cap off the productive day, the Philippine Red Cross – La Union Chapter presented a Certificate of Appreciation to PDEA RO I at around 4:00 PM, recognizing the agency’s invaluable resource support and for providing the venue.

PDEA Pangasinan Conducts IDADAIT 2026 Drug Awareness Lecture at Binmaley School of Fisheries

In line with the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2026, the PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Office, led by IA V Dexter B. Asayco, Provincial Officer, conducted a Drug Abuse Prevention Education (DAPE) Lecture on June 11, 2026, at the Binmaley School of Fisheries, Binmaley, Pangasinan.

During the activity, Provincial Officer Asayco discussed the salient features of Republic Act No. 9165, while IA III Darnel L. Bacate, Assistant Provincial Officer, presented the current national drug situation. The lecture was attended by Grade 11 and Grade 12 students, teachers, and community stakeholders.

The activity was initiated by the PADAC Secretariat headed by Atty. Kandace Lorraine Palagud, in coordination with the MADAC of Binmaley led by Ms. Renaida Beltran, with the support of Barangay San Isidro Norte officials and School Principal Teody Delos Santos.

Through this initiative, PDEA continues to strengthen drug awareness and prevention efforts among the youth, promoting a healthy, safe, and drug-free community.
