The Commission on Human Rights Regional Office 3 headed by its Regional Director, Atty. Leorae D. Valmonte and National Commission and Indigenous Peoples Region 3 headed by Regional Director Atty. Roman A. Antonio conducted a joint courtesy visit to Philippine National Police Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen. Jess B. Mendez.

During the courtesy visit, RD Antonio mentioned that the NCIP R3 shall be conducting AD Surveys in Batiawan, Subic, Zambales. A coordination with PCol. Harry Lorenzo III of the PRO 3 Regional Intelligence Division was conducted as part of the protocol for the protection and security of NCIP personnel during their AD survey.

NCIP Region 3 aligns and will endeavor to keep this matra as envigorating motivation to move the community forward.

QUEZON CITY — Ikinagalak ni NCIP Secretary and Chairperson Nancy A. Catamco ang paglulunsad ng bagong gabay sa adhikain ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP):

“𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣: 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣.”

Ayon kay Sec. Nancy, sumasalamin ang nasabing pahayag sa tunay na diwa ng mandato ng Komisyon na itaguyod ang mas maunlad, empowered, at matatag na mga katutubong pamayanan bilang mahalagang haligi ng pambansang kaunlaran.

“Hindi lamang ito simpleng pahayag kundi isang malinaw na deklarasyon ng ating mandato at layunin bilang isang institusyon,” ani Sec. Nancy.

“Ang masagana at nagkakaisang pamayanang katutubo ay mahalaga hindi lamang sa pagpapanatili ng kultura kundi maging sa pagsusulong ng isang inklusibo at maunlad na bansa,” patuloy niya.

Binigyang-diin ni Sec. Nancy na magsisilbing gabay at panawagan ang bagong adhikain para sa lahat ng opisyal, kawani, at katuwang ng NCIP sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa at patakarang magpapabuti sa kabuhayan, karapatan, at pangkalahatang kalagayan ng mga katutubong Pilipino.

Pinasalamatan din ni Sec. Nancy ang mga bumuo ng nasabing pahayag, na aniya’y sumasalamin sa kolektibong adhikain ng pagkakaisa, pagbibigay-lakas, at pambansang pag-unlad.

“Sa pamamagitan ng adhikaing ito, tayo ay magpapatuloy nang may panibagong sigla at malinaw na direksyon. Tinitiyak natin na walang maiiwang katutubong pamayanan sa ating paglalakbay tungo sa sustenableng kaunlaran,” dagdag pa ni Sec. Nancy.

Muling pinagtibay ni Sec. Nancy ang pangako ng NCIP na manatiling matatag sa pagsusulong at pangangalaga sa karapatan at kapakanan ng mga katutubo bilang mahalagang katuwang sa pagkamit ng tunay at pangmatagalang kaunlaran ng bansa.

𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:

Alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 8815, ang ika-7 ng Mayo ng bawat taon ay idineklarang Special Non-Working Holiday sa Probinsiya ng Pampanga at Siudad Angeles.

Ito ay para alalahanin ang buhay at kabayanihan nang yumaong Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos na isang Kapampangan.

Ang tanggapan ng NCIP Regional Office 3 at Floridablanca Service Center na nasasakupan ng local holiday na ito ay sarado sa ika-7 ng Mayo 2026.

Kasunod po rito, sarado rin ng ika-8 ng Mayo 2026 ang buong tanggapan ng NCIP Region 3 dahil sa compressed work week arrangement bunsod ng state of national energy emergency (EO No. 110 s.2026).

Bukas po ang aming tanggapan mula 7am hanggang 7pm mula Lunes hanggang Huwebes (except holidays/saturday/sunday).

On Support for the 124th Labor Day Job Fair

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) proudly expresses its full support for the 124th Labor Day Job Fair, spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), held on May 1, 2026, in celebration of Labor Day.

This nationwide initiative reflects the government’s strong commitment to expanding employment opportunities and empowering Filipino workers to actively contribute to economic recovery and sustained national growth.

As we mark this important occasion, we also emphasize the need for greater inclusivity, particularly for our Indigenous Peoples (IPs), many of whom remain underrepresented in formal employment. Despite their vital contributions in agriculture, fisheries, and other informal sectors within their ancestral domains, IPs continue to face barriers in accessing stable, dignified, and secure work.

We therefore call on both public and private sectors to strengthen inclusive hiring practices by creating culturally responsive, accessible, and community-based employment pathways. Opportunities must extend beyond urban centers and meaningfully reach rural and ancestral communities, where many Indigenous Peoples live and work.

The NCIP stands ready to partner with DOLE and all stakeholders in advancing skills development, policy support, and inclusive labor programs that recognize the dignity, rights, and potential of Indigenous Peoples.

As we celebrate the Filipino worker, let this be a reminder that true progress is measured not only by economic growth, but by how inclusive and equitable our opportunities are for all especially for those who have long remained unseen.
