BARANGAY SEVILLA COLLABORATES WITH CITY POLICE FOR โSHE-DEFENSEโ AWARENESS PROGRAM
On May 15, 2026, officials of Barangay Sevilla worked hand-in-hand with officers from the City of San Fernando Police Station to launch the โShe-Defense: Empowering Young Womenโ awareness campaign. This program was created to support the well-being, security, and personal growth of young women living in our community.
Female police officer, PCpl Maricel G. Graycochea facilitated talks on ways to keep young women safe from sexual assault, gender-based violence, and other offenses committed against them. They also stressed the need for minors to follow prescribed curfew hours, reminding everyone to strictly observe existing rules and regulations to protect our young residents, most especially after dark.
Furthermore, PSSg Aguila from the 1st La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company (LUPMFC) showed simple yet effective self-defense methods and gave useful advice on staying safe both day and night โ guidance that proves especially valuable when encountering possible dangers.
In partnership with the City Gender and Development Office, we also organized a Gender Sensitivity Training to build a community based on mutual respect, equal rights, and fair treatment for everyone. Mr. Emil O. Tadiarca acted as the main speaker for this activity, guiding participants to learn more about gender concerns, encourage equal opportunities, and put an end to all kinds of unfair treatment and bias.
