Kasama sa makabuluhang paggunita ng Ika-128 Taon ng Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas, nakiisa si City Vice Mayor Hon. Pablo C. Ortega sa Pagpupugay sa Watawat at Wreath Laying Ceremony bilang pagpupugay sa kagitingan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani.

Pinangunahan ng Philippine Navy ang seremonya kasama ang Union Masonic Lodge No. 70, mga Opisyal at Kawani ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod, Veterans Federation of the Philippines, Armed Forces of the Philippines (Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard, at Philippine Air Force), Uniformed Services (PNP, BJMP, at BFP), Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines, Liga ng mga Barangay, at Liga ng mga Barangay, at Department of Education Schools Division.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni Vice Mayor Pablo C. Ortega ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa, pagmamahal sa bayan, at patuloy na pagpapahalaga sa kalayaang ipinaglaban ng ating mga ninuno.

Hon. Kyle Marie Eufrosito Y. Nisce raised concerns about the expired Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the City of San Fernando, La Union, emphasizing its importance in guiding development, budgeting, and public services. Although the City hired Palafox Associates to update the plan, the process is still ongoing. The speech urged the Executive Department to provide a status report on the CLUP and suggested a Supplemental Investment Program (SIP) to align future projects with the City’s long-term development goals.
