Following the previous training sessions, this second batch was conducted in response to the continuing demand from local government units. The activity aims to further enhance their capacity in applying tools and methodologies that integrate climate and disaster risk information into their local planning processes.

This capacity-building initiative is spearheaded through a strong collaborative partnership between the Ylocos Local Planning Coordinators, Inc., led by ๐„๐ง๐. ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ž ๐‚. ๐’๐š๐›๐š๐ฅ๐›๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ, and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 1, led by ๐Ž๐ˆ๐‚-๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐„๐ง๐ ๐ซ. ๐„๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐๐จ๐ซ ๐…. ๐๐š๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐„๐‹๐”๐๐ƒ๐ƒ ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ.

By bridging technical approaches with practical local planning, participating local government units are better equipped to anticipate hazards, protect vulnerable ecosystems, and secure a safer, highly sustainable future for their constituents.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 1 - Environmental, Land Use and Urban Planning and Development Division (ELUPDD) officially received the Approved Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the Municipality of Sison, Pangasinan.

The documents, which have been ratified through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 2026-154, serves as the municipalityโ€™s official development blueprint for the next decade.

The submission of the approved plan marks a significant milestone in the region's pursuit of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2028 target of achieving 100% Risk-Informed Comprehensive Land Use Plans.

This submission cements LGU Sisonโ€™s readiness to operationalize their vision. The approved CLUP is a reflection of the ever changing socio-economic and geographical landscape of their municipality.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION โ€” In line with its commitment to promoting sustainable, resilient, and well-planned communities, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Regional Office I provided technical support during the Retooling and Follow-Through on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) Activity on July 27, 2026, at the J&V Hotel and Resort. Organized by DILG La Union under the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) Program, the initiative gathered City and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (C/MPDCs), planning staff, and Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) across La Unionโ€™s 15 component LGUs and the Provincial Government to streamline the updating of their respective land use plans.

To guide participants, DHSUD RO I resource speakers Engr. Jonathan C. Lang-ay and Engr. Kier Lorenz B. Fernandez, EnP, facilitated sessions covering the 12-Step CLUP Planning Process, data requirements, zoning fundamentals, the Enhanced Housing Sub-sector, and the Revised Review and Approval Process under DHSUD Memorandum Circular No. 2021-005.
