CHINESE NATIONAL ARRESTED AS PNP SEIZES ₱500K ALLEGED FAKE SEASONING IN CEBU

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), authorities arrested a 61-year-old Chinese national and seized approximately 100 boxes of alleged counterfeit food seasoning products valued at ₱500,000.00 during a law enforcement operation in Cebu City.

The operation was conducted on September 29 in Barangay Sto. Niño by personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), together with intelligence personnel, territorial police units, and representatives of the concerned brand owner. The suspect was reportedly found selling and trading the alleged counterfeit products.

The operation stemmed from a complaint concerning the alleged sale, distribution, and possession of counterfeit seasoning products. The seized items were secured for proper documentation and disposition, while the arrested suspect was placed under police custody for the filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

PGen Nartatez emphasized that protecting consumers and legitimate businesses requires close coordination between law enforcement, government agencies, and the private sector.

“When there is a complaint about counterfeit products, we take it seriously because it affects both consumers and legitimate businesses. We will continue to coordinate with the concerned agencies and rights holders, verify the information, and act within the law.”

The operation is part of the PNP’s continuing efforts under the PNP Focused Agenda and Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) to strengthen law enforcement against activities that may affect consumers, legitimate enterprises, and the integrity of commercial products. It also supports the broader public-safety priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The PNP reminds the public to be cautious when purchasing food and other consumer products, particularly those sold through unauthorized or questionable sources, and to report suspected counterfeit products to the proper authorities.

Through coordinated and lawful enforcement, the PNP remains committed to protecting communities, supporting legitimate businesses, and advancing the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

MOST WANTED SUSPECT IN CAPIZ MURDER OF POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police personnel arrested the No. 7 Provincial Most Wanted Person (MWP) in Capiz during the service of a warrant of arrest in Sitio Baybay, Pontevedra, Capiz, on September 30, 2026.

The 29-year-old male suspect, a resident of Dumarao, Capiz, was arrested at around 5:45 p.m. pursuant to a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 15, Roxas City, Capiz, in connection with a murder case involving the use of an unlicensed fi***rm. The court did not recommend bail for the case.

The arrest marks the second apprehension in connection with the case. The first suspect, who is a cousin of the newly arrested No. 7 Provincial MWP, was apprehended on July 20, 2026. Police authorities are continuing efforts to locate the third suspect, who remains at large, as the investigation and corresponding legal processes continue.

The newly arrested suspect is currently under the custody of the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and further legal proceedings. An Alternative Recording Device was utilized throughout the operation to document the conduct of the arrest.

The case stemmed from the July 20, 2026 line-of-duty death of a police officer who was responding to a reported public disturbance in Pontevedra when he sustained fatal injuries. The PNP continues to pursue the case based on available evidence and court-issued processes.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the latest arrest reflects the continuing police effort to follow through on cases and implement warrants issued by the courts.

“Hindi natatapos ang trabaho sa unang pag-aresto. We continue to work on the case, one step at a time, guided by the evidence and the legal process. May mga taong kailangan pa nating hanapin, and we will continue doing our part within the bounds of the law,” PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP emphasized that all persons arrested remain entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court. The operation forms part of the PNP’s continuing efforts to strengthen police responsiveness and case follow-through in line with the PNP Focused Agenda and its Enhanced Managing Police Operations, consistent with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in promoting peace, order, and public safety.

Through sustained, lawful, and accountable police service, the PNP remains committed to protecting communities, supporting the administration of justice, and advancing the vision of a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested Region 2’s No. 2 Regional Most Wanted Person facing four counts of Qualified R**e of a Minor following the implementation of a Warrant of Arrest in Barangay Quinagabian, Santa Maria, Isabela, on September 29, 2026.

The arrested suspect, 33, a laborer and resident of the area, was apprehended by the Tracker Team of the Santa Maria Police Station, serving as the lead unit, with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Isabela Police Provincial Office, Provincial Intelligence Team Isabela West–Regional Intelligence Unit 2, and Regional Intelligence Division 2.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a minor against her father. Following the alleged incident on April 27, 2026, the victim reportedly escaped and sought refuge at her grandfather’s residence, where she disclosed the alleged abuse. The matter was immediately brought to the attention of the authorities and subjected to investigation, resulting in the filing of cases against the suspect and the subsequent issuance of the warrant.

“The implementation of this warrant demonstrates our resolve to locate persons facing serious criminal charges and bring them before the proper court. At the same time, we remain committed to protecting victims and ensuring that every police action is carried out within the bounds of law and due process.” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi dapat manahimik ang mga biktima ng pang-aabuso. Nandiyan ang kapulisan upang tumugon, protektahan ang mga nangangailangan, at tiyaking ang mga kaso ay maayos na naihaharap sa korte,” he added.

The arrest reflects the PNP Focused Agenda, a framework for strengthening police service through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, particularly in pursuing wanted persons and implementing lawful warrants.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Santa Maria Police Station for appropriate proceedings pending turnover to the issuing court. The warrant indicates no recommended bail for the cases filed against him.

As the PNP strengthens its pursuit of persons wanted for serious offenses and safeguards victims of abuse under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

The PNP said the recovered items are being processed and handled in accordance with established procedures, while appropriate cases will be pursued against persons found to be responsible.

The continuing efforts support the peace and public safety priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as the PNP works to deliver responsive police service and protect communities from threats that affect public safety.

With sustained operations, inter-agency cooperation, and responsible police work, the PNP remains committed to making its presence felt where it matters most—consistent with the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
