The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured the public that it is fully prepared for the possible effects of the tropical storm expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), with millions of relief supplies and other resources prepositioned nationwide.

The Department has a total of Php 4.416 billion in standby funds and stockpile consisting of food and non-food supplies ready for augmentation aid to those who will be affected by the latest weather disturbance. (CC)

Matagumpay na isinagawa ng DSWD Field Office 1 - Ilocos Region Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD FO 1 SLP) ang Ceremonial Turnover of Served SLP Associations (SLPAs) in Conflict- Affected and Vulnerable Areas (CVAs) sa apat na Local Government Units (LGUs) sa lalawigan ng Ilocos Sur noong June 10-11, 2026.

Bahagi ito ng patuloy na pagsulong ng inklusibo at pangmatagalang kapayapaan sa ilalim ng implementasyon ng Executive Order No. 70, Series of 2018. Kabilang ang DSWD sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na bumubuo sa National at Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (N/RTF-ELCAC) na may layuning magbigay ng komprehensibong tulong sa mga benepisyaryo mula sa mga natukoy na Vulnerable at Conflict-Affected Areas.

Sa inisyatibang ito, naging pangunahing tungkulin ng Kagawaran ang maghatid ng matatag na kabuhayan sa mga benepisyaryo.

Sa Ilocos Sur, 10 SLPAs na binubuo ng 237 na miyembro mula sa mga bayan ng Narvacan, Galimuyod, Salcedo, at Nagbukel ang nakatanggap ng tig-Php300,000.00 Livelihood Settlement Grant (LSG) kada asosasyon bilang panimulang kapital noong 2022 at 2024.

Nagpaabot ng tulong ang DSWD Field Office 1 – Ilocos Region (DSWD FO 1) noong June 19, 2026 sa anim na naulilang pamilya ng mga biktima ng vehicular accident sa Brgy. Bolo, Labrador, Pangasinan noong June 16, 2026.

Nakatanggap ang bawat pamilya ng psychosocial support, PhP10,000 funeral assistance, at PhP10,000 food assistance sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), gayundin ng tig-dalawang Family Food Packs (FFPs) at Hygiene Kits.

Samantala, kahapon (June 22), nakatanggap din ang isa pang pamilya ng biktima ng kaparehong halaga ng assistance at mga Food and Non-Food Items (FNFIs).

Patuloy naman ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng DSWD FO 1 sa iba pang mga biktima na kasalukuyang nagpapagaling sa iba't ibang ospital sa lalawigan upang maipaabot ang mga kinakailangang tulong at serbisyo.

Starting today (June 22), beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program may once again use their Guarantee Letters (GLs) at 262 participating Mercury Drug branches across the country, making it easier to access medicines and other essential medical supplies.

Prior to this renewed partnership, the Department had also forged a similar arrangement with Generika Drugstore, further expanding the network with partner pharmacies where AICS beneficiaries may use their GLs. (CC)

Isinagawa ng DSWD Field Office 1 – Ilocos Region (DSWD FO 1) Area 1 Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC I) ang tatlong araw na Sportsfest 2026 mula June 16 - 18, 2026.

Itinampok sa aktibidad ang iba't ibang palaro at kompetisyon, kabilang ang Cheer Dance Competition at ang Search for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2026, kung saan naipamalas ng mga kalahok ang kanilang talento, pagkamalikhain, at kumpiyansa sa sarili. Sa bawat palaro, pinatunayan din nila na ang tunay na lakas, determinasyon, at kakayahang magtagumpay ay hindi nasusukat sa anumang pisikal na limitasyon.

Layunin ng Sportsfest na mapaunlad ang pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, talento, at kakayahan ng mga kliyente. Higit pa sa palakasan, nagsilbi itong pagkakataon upang maipakita nila ang kanilang potensyal at aktibong pakikilahok sa komunidad.

TINGNAN | Magiging pangunahing tagapangasiwa na ng mga naisagawang proyekto sa ilalim ng Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) – Project LAWA at BINHI ang 150 partner-beneficiaries mula sa Sugpon, Ilocos Sur.

Ito ay matapos mai-turn over sa kanila ang anim na potable water systems na kanilang ni-rehabilitate, gayundin ang anim na taniman ng ube—isang climate-resilient crop na maaaring magsilbing karagdagang pinagkukunan nila ng pagkain at kabuhayan.

Bago ang turn over, sumailalim ang mga partner-beneficiaries sa Cash-for-Training (CFT), na bahagi ng Stage 3 ng programa. Sa pamamagitan nito, naibahagi sa kanila ang mga kaalaman sa sustainable farming, pest management, at sustainability planning upang matiyak ang wastong pangangalaga, pagpapanatili, at pagpapalago ng mga proyektong kanilang ipagpapatuloy sa komunidad sa tulong at gabay ng kanilang Lokal na Pamahalaan.

Kasabay nito, natanggap din ng mga partner-beneficiaries ang kanilang sahod mula sa 20 araw na paglahok sa CFT at Cash-for-Work (CFW), na magsisilbing karagdagang suporta sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan.

Patunay ito na ang Project LAWA at BINHI ay hindi lamang nagbibigay ng pansamantalang tulong, kundi nagtataguyod ng mga komunidad na may kakayahang pangalagaan, ipagpatuloy, at palaguin ang mga proyektong magpapalakas sa kanilang food security, water access, at katatagan laban sa mga epekto ng climate change.
