The Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office I (DMW RO I) was recognized as one of the valued partner agencies of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region I during the celebration of its 10th Anniversary Stakeholders and Awards Night held on June 24, 2026 at Narj Restaurant and Event Place.

DMW RO I received the “Catalyst for Change Award” in recognition of its transformative programs and initiatives that empower Filipinos through skills development, livelihood creation, and workforce advancement. The award was received by OIC-Assistant Regional Director Romeo A. Jaramilla on behalf of the agency.

Also present during the celebration was IT Specialist Ryan Paul Collado, who joined the OIC-ARD in representing DMW RO I.

The event highlighted a decade of DICT Region I’s commitment to advancing digital transformation, innovation, and strengthened collaboration among government agencies, local government units, and partner stakeholders in Region I. It also served as an opportunity to recognize institutions that continuously contribute to inclusive and effective public service delivery.

DMW RO I remains committed to fostering partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote innovation, empowerment, and improved services for Filipino workers and their families.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region I joined the 1st Pangasinan Employer Recognition Awards (PERA) held on June 18, 2026 at the Sison Auditorium, Capitol Compound, Lingayen, Pangasinan, organized by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Pangasinan.

The event brought together key government officials, national agencies, employers, and stakeholders in recognition of their vital role in strengthening employment facilitation and workforce development in the province.

Representing DMW Region I were Regional Director Christian Rey O. Sison, who delivered a message emphasizing the importance of sustained collaboration in advancing decent work and inclusive employment opportunities; Mr. Christian Brylle T. Navarro, CAO/OIC-Chief, MWPD; Ms. Tina M. Garcia, SVLEO, who also served as one of the validators; and Ms. Karenlyn L. Tan, LEO III.

In his message, RD Sison commended the Province of Pangasinan for its steadfast commitment to public service and employment generation, noting that the province’s initiatives are truly “Guico-mmendable” and undeniably “Pangasinan Ang Galing.”

The ceremony was graced by officials from both the provincial and national government, led by Governor Ramon V. Guico III through Community Affairs Officer IV Atty. Kandace Lorraine M. Palagud, together with Provincial Administrator Manuel O. Luis, Jr., DOLE RO I Regional Director Honorina Dian-Baga, DMW RO I Regional Director Christian Rey O. Sison, PRC RO I Regional Director Atty. Arl Ruth B. Sacay-Sabelo, Board Member Jerry Agerico B. Rosario, and Provincial PESO Manager Ma. Richelle M. Raguindin.

The activity highlighted the importance of strong partnerships among government agencies, employers, and stakeholders in promoting a more inclusive and responsive labor market.

DMW Region I remains committed to strengthening collaborations and supporting programs that uphold decent work, protect worker welfare, and promote inclusive growth for Filipino workers and their families.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region I led by Regional Director Christian Rey O. Sison, participated in the 2nd Quarter Full Council Meeting of the Regional Development Council-I (RDC-1) held on June 17, 2026, in San Fernando City, La Union.

The meeting highlighted key development priorities and transformative initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure, innovation, education, agriculture, enterprise development, and cultural preservation across the Ilocos Region.

DMW Region I recognizes the importance of these initiatives, particularly those that contribute to employment generation, skills development, and sustainable economic opportunities for Filipino workers and their families.

As an active development partner, DMW Region I remains committed to supporting collaborative efforts that promote inclusive growth, regional competitiveness, and improved opportunities for the workforce in Region I.
