The National Validation for the 2026 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities (PACFCM) in the local government units (LGUs) of Olongapo City and Rizal, Nueva Ecija was successfully conducted on September 21 to October 2, 2026, by the validators from the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), Save the Children Philippines, Philippine National Police, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development alongside the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Central Luzon.
As national nominees, Olongapo City, under the Highly Urbanized Cities category, and the Municipality of Rizal, Nueva Ecija, under the 1st to 3rd Class Municipalities category, are vying for the 2026 Outstanding PACFCM Award. Both LGUs continue to demonstrate their commitment to promoting and protecting the rights and well-being of children, upholding their rights to survival, development, protection, and participation.
The onsite validation served as an important opportunity to monitor, evaluate, and document the implementation of programs, projects, and services that directly benefited children. It also strengthened partnerships among local stakeholders and recognized local governments that demonstrated sustained efforts toward creating childโfriendly communities.
Being named among the national nominees is already a significant achievement and reflects the LGUsโ continuing commitment to putting children at the heart of local governance and development.
The results of the 2026 national validation are expected to be announced in December 2026.
For every child, every right, every opportunity, Olongapo City and the Municipality of Rizal, Nueva Ecija, continue to move forward.
