IBP Nationwide Synchronized Jail Decongestion Activity

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Agusan del Sur Chapter, in partnership with the Parole and Probation Administration Office, Provincial Prosecutors’ Office, and Public Attorneys’ Office, successfully conducted the IBP Nationwide Synchronized Jail Decongestion Activity on August 27, 2026, at the Provincial Jail, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

This meaningful activity brought together legal professionals and partner agencies in a shared effort to help address jail congestion, review the circumstances of persons deprived of liberty, and explore appropriate legal remedies and interventions.

Through collaboration and compassionate service, we continue to uphold the principles of Justice, Dignity, and Hope—bringing justice closer to those behind bars.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Agusan del Sur Chapter, in collaboration with the Parole and Probation Administration Office, Provincial Prosecutors’ Office, and Public Attorneys’ Office, joins the nationwide effort to promote justice, fairness, and access to legal assistance for persons deprived of liberty.

This collaborative initiative aims to help address jail congestion through legal assessment, case evaluation, and coordination among concerned justice sector agencies—bringing us one step closer to a more accessible and humane justice system.

Today marks the 40th day since the untimely passing of Rene Clert "Bobet" Baterbonia. As we continue to remember his life, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Agusan del Sur Chapter once again extends its deepest condolences, prayers, and unwavering solidarity to the Baterbonia family.

In recognition of this solemn occasion, the Chapter recalls the adoption of Board Resolution No. 07-2026, Series of 2026, expressing profound sympathy to the bereaved family and formally offering the services of the Chapter's Pro Bono Legal Team to assist in studying, preparing, and filing the appropriate civil actions arising from the tragic incident, as well as providing legal guidance and institutional support as may be necessary.

The IBP Agusan del Sur Chapter remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold justice, protect the rights of our fellow Agusanons, and stand with the Baterbonia family in their pursuit of truth and accountability.

May the soul of Rene Clert "Bobet" Baterbonia continue to rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength, comfort, and hope in the love and prayers of the community.

The IBP Agusan del Sur Chapter, led by our Chapter President, Marceliano Monato, together with participating members of the Chapter, successfully joined the recently concluded IBP Synchronized Tree Planting Activity held at Barangay Pinagalaan.

This nationwide IBP initiative reflects the legal profession’s commitment not only to justice and the rule of law but also to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Through this activity, we continue to do our part in protecting, preserving, and nurturing our environment for future generations.

In line with our commitment to making justice more accessible to every Agusanon, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Agusan del Sur Chapter is proudly rendering FREE LEGAL AID SERVICES at the Naliyagan Plaza Grounds as part of “Serbisyo sa Naliyagan Para sa Katawhan” during the Naliyagan Festival 2026.

Our volunteer lawyers are available to assist the public through:

✅ Drafting of Simple Legal Documents
✅ Legal Advice and Assistance
✅ Other Legal Aid Services
