๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG through Coast Guard Sub-Station San Francisco immediately rendered necessary assistance during the clean-up operarions of Rural Health Unit office of the Municipality of San Francisco, Surigao del Norte yesterday, 06 February 2026.
The clean-up operation was conducted following the aftermath of Tropical Storm Basyang which caused flooding that affected several facilities in the area including the Rural Health Unit office.
The initiative ensured the prompt resumption of health office operations without disruptions providing a clean, safe and well-prepared environment for the continued delivery of health services to the residents of Municipality of San Francisco.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) remains steadfast in its commitment to provide necessary assistance and to support the Local Government Units (LGUs) particularly in times of recovery and rehabilitation phase following calamities and natural disasters.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG through Coast Guard CoastGuard Sub-Station SurigaoCity, Coast Guard Sub-Station San Francisco and Coast Guard Sub-Station Mainit rendered necessary assistance to their respective Local Government Units in the relief operations in their respective areas today, 06 February 2026.
The relief items consist of Family Food Packs were distributed to the residents of Surigao City, Municipality of San Francisco and Municipality of Mainit who were affected by the onslaught of Tropical Storm โBasyangโ
A total of three hundred thirty-nine (339) relief items were distributed to the aforementioned City/Municipalities in close coordination with the respective Social Welfare and Development offices and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) remains steadfast in its commitment to render necessary assistance to the Local Government Units (LGU) particularly in the conduct of humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Sub-Station San Francisco led by PO3 Alchemy De II Pelias PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG immediately rendered necessary assistance to the LGU of San Francisco during the pre-emptive evacuation efforts amid Tropical Storm โBasyangโ today, 05 February 2026.
Through the collaborative efforts of PCG personnel from Headquarters CGS SDN and CGSS San Francisco as well as Barangay Officials of Brgy. Poblacion, a total of six (6) families composed of twenty-six (26) individuals were successfully evacuated from Brgy. Poblacion and safely transported to Anao-aon Elementary School as their designated evacuation center.
Meanwhile, Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte continues to closely monitor the possible effects of the prevailing inclement weather disturbance which hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TWCS) Nr. 2 in the area of responsibility of the Station.
In close coordination with the Local Government Units within the jurisdiction, Deployable Response Groups remain on standby for possible humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: In consonance to the marching order of the Acting Commander Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao Commodore Dennis Rem C Labay PCG, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG simultaneously conducted Seaborne Patrol Operations within the respective areas of responsibility from 19 to 25 January 2026.
The simultaneous conduct of Seaborne Patrol Operations was successfully carried out as part of the PCG's continuous commitment to strengthen maritime safety, security and law enforcement within its area of responsibility wherein the said initiative aims to enhance maritime domain awareness, deter illegal maritime activities, ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain peace and order in CGS SDN coastal and territorial waters.
During the operation, Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte together with its Sub-Stations in collaboration with Coast Guard Special Operations Group - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM) and Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Group - Northeastern Mindanao (MARSLEG-NEM) undertook the necessary preparations, precautionary measures and heightened vigilance throughout the conduct of Seaborne Patrol Operations as well as reinforced inter-unit coordination, operational preparedness, and rapid response capability to effectively address emergencies, maritime incidents and potential threats at sea.
Through this initiative, the PCG reaffirm its strong commitment to safeguarding lives, protecting marine resources and promoting a safe and secure maritime environment for all.

๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully conducted the Simultaneous Coastal Clean-Up Activity within the respective areas of responsibility of Coast Guard Sub Station Lipata and Coast Guard Sub-Station San Francisco today, 25 January 2026.
The activity was made possible through the efforts of CGS SDN personnel, who worked hand in hand in removing accumulated marine debris, plastics and other waste materials along the coastline wherein the collective efforts reinforces the Philippine Coast Guardโs unwavering commitment to marine environmental protection thereby ensuring a cleaner shorelines, healthier marine ecosystems and safer coastal communities.
Through this initiative highlights the importance of shared responsibility and community involvement in promoting sustainable environmental stewardship as well as a healthier marine environment for present and future generations.
A total of six (6) sacks of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste products were successfully collected by the team throughout the said endeavor.

๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG actively participated in the conduct of Mangrove Planting Activity with the theme โ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ค๐๐๐๐, ๐พ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐โ๐๐ ๐ด๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐พ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐๐๐๐๐โ held along the coastal areas of Brgy. Cagniog, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte today, 19 December 2025.
The said activity was likewise participated by the Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao Operational Control Units such as: Marine Environmental Protection and Enforcement Response Group - Northeastern Mindanao (MEPERG-NEM), Coast Guard Special Operations Group -Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM), Coast Guard K9 Filed Operating Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGK9FOU-NEM) and Coast Guard Sea Marshal Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSMU-NEM).
The abovementioned activity was conducted and facilitated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to support coastal protection and environmental sustainability as well as to strengthen coastal resilience, protect marine ecosystems and promote community participation in environmental conservation.
A total of two thousand (2,000) propagules were successfully planted which contributed to the preservation and restoration of coastal ecosystem thereby strengthening not only the environmental stewardship but also highlights the importance of protecting and preserving the natural resources for future generations.

๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG together with 30th Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army extended full support to the GMA Kapuso Foundation in the repacking of relief goods yesterday, 10 December 2025 at Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Placer, Surigao del Norte.
Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao (CGDNEM) Operational Control (OPCON) Units such as Maritime Safety Services Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (MSSU-NEM), Coast Guard Legal Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGLU-NEM), Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Group - Northeastern Mindanao (MARSLEG-NEM), Coast Guard K9 Field Operating Unit - Northeastern Mondanao (CGK9FOU-NEM), Coast Guard Special Operations Group - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM), Marine Environmental Protection and Enforcement Response Group - Northeastern Mindanao (MEPERG-NEM) and Coast Guard Seamarshal Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSMU-NEM) also took part in the said Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response efforts for the affected areas brought by the onslaught of STS Tino.
In close coordination with GMAKF, the Coast Guard ensured the orderly, swift and secure repacking of essential items including food packs and basic necessities making sure each packs are complete and ready for distribution to communities particularly in the Province of Dinagat Islands which aims to help affected families meet their immediate needs as they begin to recover from the unfortunate natural calamity.
With the said initiative, the Philippine Coast Guard remains steadfast in its commitment to render humanitarian assistance, support disaster-affected communities and uphold its duty of serving the people with compassion and dedication as well as strengthening community resilience through continued presence and proactive service.
