A successful Bantay Dagat operation was conducted this morning at Lake Danao. One individual was apprehended for violating the law by fishing despite the ongoing 6-month fishing ban.
This accomplishment reflects the dedication and commitment of our Bantay Dagat in protecting our marine resources. We will continue to strictly enforce the law to preserve our fisheries for future generations.

The San Francisco Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) successfully conducted its Strategic Planning Workshop and 2nd Monthly Meeting, bringing together council members and partners to discuss key plans, priorities, and initiatives for sustainable fisheries and coastal resource management in the Municipality of San Francisco.
The activity served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration, align programs, and reinforce the commitment of stakeholders in protecting marine resources while supporting the welfare and livelihood of local fisherfolk.

After 15 years, the long wait is finally over for the Municipality of San Francisco, Cebu.
The long-awaited 3-day BFAR Deputation Training for Fish Wardens, held on January 20–22, 2026, was successfully conducted at the Fish Landing, Lower Can-ising, Southern Poblacion, San Francisco, Cebu. This historic activity marks a major milestone in strengthening fisheries law enforcement and enhancing the capability of our local fish wardens in protecting marine and inland water resources.
This significant undertaking was made possible through the strong leadership and unwavering support of Mayor Alfredo A. Arquillano Jr., whose commitment to environmental protection, sustainable fisheries, and community-based resource management continues to guide the municipality toward long-term ecological balance and food security.
Throughout the three-day training, fish wardens were equipped with essential knowledge on fisheries laws, enforcement procedures, and proper coordination with concerned agencies—ensuring more effective action against illegal fishing and other destructive activities.
The Municipality of San Francisco extends its sincere gratitude to BFAR, PCG, PNP, MAO, CRM, Hon. Alan R. Arrojado- Committee on Agriculture Chairman, Barangays, Rare Philippines, Bantay Dagat/Fish Wardens and all partner agencies and stakeholders for making this long-overdue initiative a reality.
