Held virtually via Zoom on April 24, 2026, the Alternative Learning Program (ALP) Culminating Activity showcased the diverse achievements, talents, and growth of Pisay scholars across various non-graded yet essential learning pathways. The event celebrated the completers of the program for School Year 2025–2026, and recognized their commitment to holistic development beyond the classroom.

The ALPs—namely Bayosphere, Kimika, Makers, Pisika, Computer Guild, Math, Model United Nations, Arts, Naruay Dances, Naruay Voices, Naruay Symphony, Husay Pisay Team Sports, and Husay Pisay Individual and Dual Sports—serve as platforms for students to explore their interests, develop specialized skills, and cultivate collaboration, leadership, and discipline. Though non-graded, these programs are integral to nurturing well-rounded individuals by promoting experiential learning, creativity, scientific curiosity, cultural appreciation, and physical wellness.

The activity also highlighted the accomplishments of student organizations and their members, including the Royal Knights of Pisay (RKP), Young Intellectual Property Advocates (YIPA), and the campus publications Igpaw (Filipino) and Northern Scholar (English). They continue to enrich the school community through service, advocacy, and the pursuit of excellence in communication and intellectual engagement.

As the ALP journey culminates for this school year, the Pisay Ilocos community honors the dedication and achievements of its students who champion growth not only in academics, but in passion, purpose, and lifelong learning.

Congratulations to the group of students and their teachers from the Technology Unit, for the successful registration of two industrial designs under the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

The designs, 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫-𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐫 and 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫, were officially registered in January 2026, which recognizes the originality and practical value of these student-led technological outputs from their 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐃𝐌𝐓) 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭.

Beyond recognition, these registrations grant the PSHS System the exclusive rights to protect and further develop these designs, which reinforce the importance of intellectual property in advancing science and technology.

PSHS-IRC continues to serve as a hub of innovation, where students are not only learners of science but active contributors to national development.

The Philippine Science High School–Ilocos Region Campus (PSHS-IRC) in Ilocos Sur proudly congratulates our scholars for their performance in the International Equilibrium Science Olympiad (IESO) 2026 Heat Round, held online on March 15, 2026.

The IESO is an international academic competition that challenges students to demonstrate proficiency across multiple scientific disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, with a strong emphasis on analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and the application of concepts to real-world scenarios. Participants compete against peers from different countries, tackling rigorous timed examinations and complex, interdisciplinary questions designed to test both depth of knowledge and adaptability.

In this highly competitive setting, our scholars exhibited perseverance, intellectual discipline, and technical competence. Their achievement reflects not only their individual dedication but also the school’s commitment to nurturing scientific excellence and global competitiveness.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: In the latest Publicus Asia survey for the first quarter of 2026, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has maintained its high approval rating, ranking second among national government agencies—just behind the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

DOST also secured the 2nd spot in terms of trust rating this quarter, once again following TESDA.

Notably, the agency’s approval and trust ratings reflect the public’s confidence in its programs and initiatives.

This recognition underscores DOST’s unwavering commitment to delivering inclusive, science-driven solutions and expanding opportunities that uplift the lives of every Filipino.

📢 NCE 2026 Score Release Update

Following the announcement of the National Competitive Examination (NCE) 2026 qualifiers, the DOST-Philippine Science High School System will release the individual test scores of all examinees—both qualifiers and non-qualifiers.

🗓 When: May 5, 2026 onwards
📧 Where: Sent to each applicant’s registered email address

This ensures that every examinee and their family can view their performance in the examination.
