Report on Landslide Incident in Ciudad Real
Date and Time of Inspection: 7:00 PM, July 24, 2024
Location: Block 1 and Block 4, Phase 1, Ciudad Real
Persons who responded: The Punong Barangay Benjamin de Leon with Kgds. JP Buñag kgd. John Talavera, Brgy Tanods, deputy Jaime Olvina, B.T Romel Anda, Ewok, and Romaine Latorino take their appropriate action.
Incident Overview: During inspection, landslides were observed in Block 1 and Block 4 of Phase 1, Ciudad Real, likely triggered by heavy rainfall causing flooding.
Actions Taken:
Early Warning Devices: Installed at blind spots along Parkway Ave. Corner Araneta Avenue to prevent potential accidents.
Mitigation Measures:
Sacks of Gravel and Sand: To be Deployed by the barangay to reduce the risk of further landslides.
Tree Planting: Will be Initiated in the future for affected landslide areas to enhance stability and prevent erosion.
Recommendations:
Continue monitoring weather conditions and landslide-prone areas.
Consider additional measures such as drainage improvements and reinforcing slopes where necessary.
Conclusion: The swift deployment of early warning devices and mitigation efforts by the barangay are crucial steps in ensuring the safety and stability of the affected area. Continued vigilance and proactive measures will be essential in mitigating future risks.
